Sadly, for all its moving parts, remains lame.
I decided to force myself to try playing the only challenge currently in the game, and it was mind numbingly boring, with the end being tedious. I legit couldn't go 5 seconds (literally) without being hit with a Workers Strike. It felt like I had spent more time in the Worker Strike menu, a menu where you click 1 button, than I did in the rest of the game. Mainly because you have to wait for a stupid slider animation to finish playing every time, which takes a few seconds.

This is one of the best economy games I've played, but unfortunately most economic games I can't recommend, and this is one of them. This game has a fairly complex looking political system with you having to bribe state and federal politicians. The political system genuinely looked so intriguing when I first started playing, unfortunately I never really got the chance to use it. There's currently a severe lack in content with there only being 1 "challenge" option and a sandbox mode (not a true sandbox, but rather a "modify world difficulty, change character traits, choose starting cash/stocks, and choose your end objective". Of the end objectives, there are only 2. Become the most wealthy or become the most influential, and I recommend going for being influential with how stupidly easy it is to get rich. There are also a severe lack of QoL/Automation so you need to constantly micromanage your companies because even at 100% ownership, your stupid CEO's will still attempt to derail your money printing schemes for no reason. Also, there has been no words from the devs in over 4 months. The developers for this game are based in Russia and there is a very real chance that they either have abandoned this game or gotten conscripted.

My Experience
I played in "Sandbox' which isn't really a sandbox. The game currently has no Story mode so the Sandbox is essentially that but you choose your starting conditions. I made myself a Lesbian African America Woman who was also an Atheist and Non Partisan, in total I got the difficulty meter up to 80%. Within 11 years of the game start, I had won. The game apparently has events going from 1870 to 1949, but I had won in 1881, and incredibly easily at that. I started in Wiscansin, bought 51% of shares in a bank, set dividends to 100 and over a few years bought out the other share holders to get a 100% control. From there I bought all other 4 banks in the state, merged them all so I had 1 bank with 100% market share the entire state, and then moved over to Colorado which had just joined the United States. I then bought 100% shares in a bank over there and started a trust with my other bank (companies are locked to their states so this is the closest you can get to a company in multiple states). I then consolidated all Colorado banks into 1 and I was then the richest person in the US and won. I literally only used by brain for like the first year of gameplay and then autopiloted the rest. I didn't get/have to bribe governors, never put my own people into power, never got to bribe my way into passing federal laws, etc. Was a real let down. It looks complex but it just isn't. Also, it lags the hell out of my computer which has a 4090 and 9800x3d, it lags me even more than X4 foundations does which I'm assuming has a more complex economic system.

中文 游戏中的公司,由于股息分红设置太低会导致公司持有大量现金,进而使公司市值异常高昂,希望限制最大持有现金或者进行其他调整。 English In the game, companies that have their dividend payout set too low end up holding excessive cash, leading to an abnormally inflated market value. It is hoped that a maximum cash holding limit can be imposed or other adjustments made. Excellent game.
Best Portfolio & Wealth management game, provides deep insights on how anyone can become rich step by step, and how rich gets to control everything. You can choose to be honest and deal with consequences or be a shadow ruler, but up to you. Could have been much more fun if presidential elections are added with full version released. Sad that developer abandoned this game, may be they got intimidated for spilling their secrets ;) !!
Really good game
Plutocracy is a game that is for those who like strategy, economy, finance, corporate management and games that make you feel that you have power and influence. You can be a corporate mogul and just take care of your businesses, or you can also influence politics and control politicians. This game can be very deep because you can play in very different ways, just like in real life you can be just a business man and became a billionaire, you can if you want to play with the power that money gives you, you can be a stock market trader, you have many choices. I really like this game, and I am eager to see what the developers will add next because many other mechanics and improvements can be made. My congratulations to the developers for this amazing game and I hope you continue with the development and improve this game even more.
non americans wont like or understand it, but this is a very well made game. future looks awesome
I have only left a review for a mechanic before however, Must get for anyone with an insane fascination with private ownership of companies, M&A, the ways state, and federal governments affect markets. Furthermore the way companies of magnitude and UHNWI, can influence state and federal governments to help them achieve their goals. Those who know..... In my opinion, crazy take but: best game on steam
