game keeps crashing in tutorial
I really wanted to try this out. Crashed 3 times on win 11, 2 times on steamOS. Will gladly try it out again if this gets fixed.
I played this game with a group and it was pretty fun to jump into dynamic combat and just start doing my best to make an impact on the map. If you want non-stop Conquest, that's what this game feels like.

TO PREVENT CRASHING THAT IS CURRENT HAPPENING IN THE GAME SPAWN A VEHICLE IN WARPGATE AND SIT ON IT FOR A FEW MINS THEN GO ABOUT YOUR GAMEPLAY FIXES THE CRASH ISSUE ANNOYING BUT IT WORKS. I have both a love and hate relationship with this game, it's been a very long road from where it had started originally with many promises of features/maps which have never come to fruition, but the fact that it is still running after all these years and changing ownership many times. Whilst it is a shell of its former self population and server-wise, the game still has a beating heart, although smaller than it used to be. This game excels once you are able to find yourself a group of like-minded people to play with, whether that is as infantry or in vehicle gameplay on the ground or in the sky. I'm not saying it's not fun for a solo, but it truly shines with some people to play with. Infantry gameplay for me is, unfortunately, not where I find my enjoyment anymore, as over the years my home server Briggs closed due to reasons [downscaling of new owners/population], so I'm playing with a larger ping now on EU/US servers, and with client-side infantry gameplay, I end up dying a bunch when I'm behind cover, which can be frustrating. Although, admittedly, an essential part of the game for point defense and so on, infantry is the backbone of the game. Vehicle gameplay, though, I feel is where this game shines for me — the driving force between bases and the air force to cover the skies and protect the little guys, flanking to take out targets, and the freedom of movement on the large maps between bases allows vehicle players so many possibilities and directions to do whatever they want, to have whatever impact they want on the battlefield. Nothing can prepare you for trying to defend a road between bases and 30+ vehicles coming rolling down the road with air support. It's just something you need to experience. Air gameplay can be quite fun to learn but requires a whole heap of patience, as you will be getting absolutely schooled by people that don't touch grass and have played for years. But with every death, hopefully, you learn something to take into the next dogfight, or you just learn to dodge that tree next time. The way the cert/progression system works now is way more friendly to new players than it used to be, helping them along with a bunch of certs to get better gear or level up their vehicles in the early ranks. My biggest bit of advice is to find yourself an outfit/guild and start playing with them on OPS nights or find a public squad that is actively staying together, as again, the game shines with friends. At the end of the day, it's free — give it a try. Just don't dismiss it straight away and give it some time. It will all seem very overwhelming, as there are a bunch of mechanics to learn, but once you understand those, it will all make sense. Perhaps watch some tutorial videos, as many have been made over the years that can guide you or at least let you know where to start on the adventure that is Araxis. Curse you, Wrel, for giving LA's rocket rifles, just saying. Good luck out there.
