🌴📸 Petit Island A cute adventure where your camera is your most important tool! Lily reconnects her Grandpaw's old friends, and fills a photo album to help preserve the memories he's beginning to lose. A gentle journey full of discoveries 🐟🦋 with around 30 fish and insects to collect! The mount system is so cute and especially helpful with the large map! I loved the Old Village and rice paddies ♡ The developer is active with the community! While the game didn't completely pull me in, it's a fun little adventure. My complaints are small: It crashed a few times interacting with playground objects. Fish shadows were hard to spot. Certain areas felt overly bright.. maybe adding dim paths, more varied lighting, glow bugs, could improve that? I circled the island so many times trying to remember where the bug and fish buyers were located (takes about 3 minutes on a mount to circle the map) and crossing the hills/cliffs through the middle of the map could be frustrating. TIPS: 💾 Save often! 🎮 Esc to close menu, Y to close camera ✧ Buy all furniture from the 3 vendors for 100%! It'll cost about $2,900, so first complete all fish and insects achievements, then sell them for your hideout upgrades. ✧ Make sure you select/equip your Mount in menu! There's no fast travel, and the island can be tricky to navigate. ✧ Certain mysteries are unexplained.. the cats with leaf on their heads? the red lizards? the snakes in jars? just cute details to enjoy, lol (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

I rage quit this game. After spending hours running all over the island, taking quests, looking for items, catching fish and insects, traipsing all over the damn place to find buyers for my fish and bugs to earn needed money (or "duit," as the game calls currency), etc., there were two "obstacle course" quests I kept going back to that I could not complete because they required platforming. I was unable to complete either of those tasks, even after multiple attempts. Unfortunately, I SERIOUSLY SUCK AT PLATFORMING. Jumping, floating, gliding, or whatever TF to get to a distant target. The store information for this game said nothing about platforming. There was no "platforming" tag for this game. If there had been, I wouldn't have even bothered with this game, because that's a deal breaker for me. So, if you suck at platforming, as I do, you'll probably want to skip Petit Island. If you're good at it, you might enjoy this game.
Super cute, easy to learn, game mechanics are good too also
If I had to describe Petit Island in one sentence, it would be: a charming idea that completely forgets who it’s trying to appeal to. The game leans heavily toward a very young audience and it shows in every aspect. The gameplay feels overly simplified to the point of being almost patronizing, with little depth or challenge to keep anyone beyond a child engaged. What could have been a cozy exploration experience ends up feeling empty and repetitive. On top of that, playing it on the Steam Deck is honestly frustrating. The controls are clunky and poorly optimized, with awkward responsiveness that constantly pulls you out of the experience. Navigation feels sluggish, interactions lack precision, and overall it just doesn’t feel like the game was designed with handheld play in mind at all. In the end, Petit Island feels like a missed opportunity — visually cute, but ultimately dull, shallow, and forgettable, especially if you’re looking for something with substance or emotional impact.
I have a hard time putting my finger on why I like this one so much. There really isn't a lot going on, but somehow, that feels exactly right at the moment where everything else tends to be very much. It's a tiny little island in pastel colours where the biggest drama is someone nicking your flower hat. And now you're bouncing around that little island on your trusty bananallama, doing fetch quest for the most loveable little characters who have a lot of nothing to say. It's just a perfect little escapism to get back to in the evening. I love it.
💕 Review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lGB9HXG5Lo
Muy entretenido!
Fun adventure game in the japanese anime style, lovely characters, music and scenes. A bit short, if you 100% it you might play for 9-10 hours.
Cute and simple game ^w^ Easy achievements too, not too grindy and there are guides to find all fish/bugs.
