Really remarkable hidden gem here. It gets the entire factory game ecosystem genre down to a T. I wish they would keep working on it though, the community seems dead for the last 2 years. A 2nd game with improved graphics and zoom would sell well I think.
This is a seriously fantastic game! Its easily one of the top RTS/Base Builders Ive played, ever. Per Aspera really puts the 'science' in science fiction, and is extremely challenging. Even on easy mode the expansiveness of this game will have you scratching your head at what to do next. When my base gets really big I have to slow down speed regularly and even pause and reassess my whole base frequently. The different phases of terraforming almost make it feel like multiple games within a single game at times, as the goals really vary (ie; expansion and resources early, with much more atmospheric management later, and a healthy dose of research stations to see whats what.) Overall, despite not having particularly very many hours in this game so far, I give it a solid 9/10 with Blue Mars included. Its incredibly thought provoking and I found it very mentally stimulating. Praise be to teh devs for this fantastic gem!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Entertaining mechanics and a cool concept around AI and terraforming. But it lacks depth and eventually feels grindy and bloated. Starts strong, but loses steam.
Plenty to like in the early game, but the late game drags to a crawl and the UI doesn't give enough tools for filtering or automation, so you end up digging through a lot of the same units (or ending up with screwy supply chains).

An interesting game, but honestly, it takes way too long to complete research, and in all of my hours I was able to play like 1.05 gameplays. All of the hours come from waiting for research to complete. I found myself needing to have netflix playing as I was gaming, which to me is an automatic no. I wish you could at least set it so there are multiple research options queued, walk away from the game, and come back to them finished. But no. You have to wait like 45 minutes for one task to complete, and then set the new one. The research times are the one thing that puts me off of this game, everything else is beautifully executed. If they add a feature like sliding scale to determine research points required where I can have it take like 10-20 minutes max for late game stuff I'd be much happier. Also, I'm adding recommendation since if you decide to terraform, you can fail, and it won't be possible in the save game anymore, and I appreciate that. Points for realism.
11.1 hours, 0/55 achievements, because I've been min/maxxing what for other players is the first 10 minutes for 3 hours, then fell asleep. 10/10 at least the beginning, it's all I've seen.
if you wanted to play per aspera in coop don't bother there are literally no reason to play it in coop why ? 1 person is more than enough to do everything in this game and player 1 will already be afk half of the game why ? bc the coop is only in sandbox mod no story, by doing so you miss like 70% of the game want to start on different spot of mars? only player 1 will have resources spawn near them so you can't play separately the game can also decide to corrupt the file in multiplayer making p2 instantly desync over and over and on top of that both player need to have the dlc
Logistics kills the fun for me. Bots can't complete anything in decent time, and it doesnt matter neither where and how much you place them. Half the game spent sitting on 1000's of basic resources lacking something like steel because bots can't deliver it in time. Another thing would be that the game is too slow. I literally played only on 16x and never went lower in my whole playtime, unless game forced me to x1 when event happened(god, why did you do that) Stupid bots aside - the game is good, i would probably've had fun if i didnt have to endure logistic nightmare enforced on me. Every single step you do actually changes the planet and it looks amazing.
