Another mind bending sokoban puzzler. While not as perfect as Baba is You (which is an incredibly high bar to set), Patrick's Parabox tries to walk the same block pushing meta puzzle route and the result is a fantastic puzzle experience. I had a great time with the game. I love how it explores its mechanics so deeply. I wish there was more, I wish there the meta went even deeper, I wish the puzzles got even harder, I wish ... it was Baba is You. But that's not a fair expectation. Patrick's Parabox is the complete puzzle package. If you love hard puzzle games that go deep with their mechanics, you will have a great time with it. I love it.

Some really fun mind bending puzzles
While not very challenging, this game is blissful to play from start to finish. Besides a few gimmick levels, every new game element introduced synergizes well with previous elements to showcase how many interaction possibilities there are. The puzzles are designed to guide the player with no added fluff to confuse them except 'Possess 15', the only level in the entire game that angers me with a completely useless reverse recursion next to the actual puzzle, which doesn’t need it to be completed. I was sad to reach 100% so I replayed nearly every level a second time with ASCII graphics (yup that's an option) to enjoy it a bit longer but even with fewer visual clues, it was quick... however, I learned custom levels were a thing and now I want to try downloading some! I just need to write this review before that, so my opinion of the game isn’t biased by what the original creator didn’t include. I only have three complaints: [olist] [*]"Possess 15" (WHY is there this faux pas in level design?), [*]the music (bland, but honestly, who cares?), [*]and, more importantly, weak visual cues for some interactions. For example: - Clone boxes are just slightly lighter than regular boxes. - Eyes can be difficult to spot on complex possessed boxes. - The move order when controlling several entities is, in my opinion, not the easiest to grasp as it occurs very quickly. 'Challenge 19' was the longest puzzle to analyze for me because my brain had a hard time figuring out the movement, which is odd considering the rest of the game doesn’t require such skills for movement recognition and instead lets you take your time to understand patterns. [/olist] TL;DR: Play this game if you want to fill your mind with wonder.
