For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About

Pathologic 3 is a psychological horror game where you have only 12 days to save a town from a mysterious plague.
You are Daniil Dankovsky: physician, researcher, prodigy. Your research into the nature of death has brought you to this remote town deep in the eastern steppe, looking for a man said to be immortal.
But the outbreak of a deadly contagion sweeps through the town. The immortal man is dead. You failed to stop it.
Now you must return to the beginning. Fix your mistakes. Save the town.
Every minute counts. Save them all, discover the secrets of immortality... don't go mad in the process.
Bring your medical training to bear. Observation and knowledge are your tools. Work with patients face-to-face.
Examine the sick and make diagnoses. Each patient is a unique story — and a medical mystery. They may lie, omit the truth, or hide their motives. You must separate fact from fiction, and identify the real symptoms. Step by step, you'll get closer to developing a vaccine that could change everything.
Fight for every new day. Ensure the town's survival by imposing your own rules: enforce quarantines, confiscate precious medicine, vaccinate the population, suppress riots, deploy patrols, and declare curfews.
You will make mistakes, face their consequences, and unlock new decrees. Your actions will shape the town—even if the people grow to hate you for it. Power is in your hands. It's up to you whether the streets will see gunfire or fireworks.
Made a mistake? Go back, and fix it.
Time is your tool for navigating a narrative web filled with moral dilemmas and branching paths. Rewind if you think you could have done better. Keep your eye on your ultimate goal—even if the road there is paved with sacrifices.
How far will you go to find the truth? Your mental state directly affects your actions, and even how you interpret events. Falling into apathy or wandering into mania may lead you to new insights... or to your death.
Sums Steam only; PlayStation, Xbox, GOG publish no volume signal, so the true total is higher by an unknown amount.

To get it right out of the way: Pathologic 2, I felt, was both the better story and the better game. Am I biased? 100% Pathologic 2 is by and far my favourite game. 3 is different. It's not bad, and I do appreciate what they were going for in making the game a different point of view for a vastly different perspective. Though in that same effort, I felt some things were watered down. Pre-ordained eventualities for some, toothless edicts for others, and at times I wish it did not involve the Amalgam mechanic at all for, while interesting, I feel takes something away from consqeuences that are otherwise forced upon you rather than the direct result of your action or inaction. I will play the game again, it's definitely worth it for all of the content, and there are some truly lovely moments within it that do let you feel for the people, the town and the miracles. But they are spread too thin and, at this time (heh), plagued (heh) with bugs that can interfere with enjoyment when it comes to frustrating consequence. Also the translation isn't quite there. Artemy calls you the Onion on day 11 in which I choose to believe is a reference to the original translation (it's definitely not though. There are a number of spelling errors. And pronounciation errors. Steppe is not pronounce steppy... Is it?) Also the gameplay is... While it's funny that you get bullied by children for being an ancient 28-year-old to the point of needing morphine, Dankovsky needs some serious Lithium. A lot of the world was lost when they condensed the number of items. I understand that Dankovsky does not NEED to understand the nuance between a peanut and a hazlenut (deathly allergic and all) but the flavour text when examining an item truly did help in creating a world that you cared about beyond simple cutscenes. You wanted to save those people. Dankovsky feels abstract at best and while thematically that is appropriate, it just does not translate as well to the themes of previous games. In a vacuum? A lovely game. But when put on the shoulders of giants, falls regrettably short in ways that could have been perfected instead with direction placed elsewhere. It's buggy, clumsy, somewhat watered down but with a heart to it and a solid 8/10 all the same. You would not regret your time with the game.
Game's writing was fantastic. I'm only sad it doesn't go on forever. I've already finished it on ps5 and now I'm going to finish it on Steam just to feel something
after playing the game and beating* it, I am left exhausted. In some areas the game feels like it lacks in mechanics. constant rush.. with rest periods at the ends of days. and some mechanics are just cheating(
trade 3 bullets for lots of loot including the spent bullets
). and I guess that I did not saw the worst outcome of this game has to offer. + the game is buggy, I did not think that I encountered those bugs, until I tried to do some things, and noticed that things are bugged.. BUT it might still interest you in the start, that's probably the main thing., I would probably play it again after some more patchs, but on a new save.

When I wrote my Patho 2 review almost 7 years ago, I began it by saying that it was everything I hoped it would be, and more. I cannot say this of Patho 3. Instead - this is the game I never thought I needed. It would have been so easy for IPL to just phone it in and make Patho 2 but better-er, add a few Bachelor-specific setpieces here and there, and call it a day. This is not at all what they did. Instead, they created what is probably the most unique and fully realised time travel game ever made, in the process slaughtering almost every Pathologic sacred cow (bull?) that the series was known for. Even if you end up not liking some or even all of the changes, you cannot fault IPL for playing it safe or the game - for being stale / derivative. The writing remains at the level you would expect in a Pathologic game and at times it's the strongest that IPL ever produced. The character of the Bachelor - Daniil Dankovskiy - is the best version of the character yet. Some of the characters also received massive narrative glow-ups and revelations (though there are also a few character assassinations...) I also think it is generally not appreciated just how funny the dialogue can be - in a way that a Bulgakov novel is funny, not garbage Whedon-esque quips. The gameplay is a mix of ye olde Pathologic walking and metre management (now improved by drugs and fast travel) combined with reading dialogue and the aforementioned time travel, which is fascinating and actually well-implemented. There are a few other sub-systems which range from amazing (the diagnostics game) to meh (the plague and riot districts). The aggregate result of these systems is that the overall experience feels discrete, fragmentary, and remote, which reinforces how the Bachelor views the world and approaches the problem of saving the town in his own unique way. I don't think that everything works - and also think that some of the stuff that does work results in a less emotionally engaging game. There are moments of tension and great emotion - but the time travel removes a lot of the signature Pathologic pressure (though there are things you cannot change). More generally, with important exceptions, the Bachelor's story is less personal and visceral than Haruspex's (there is simply no equivalent to the Murky plotline or walking back to town along the railway after a certain late day) which is by design. There're a lot of junk and bugs. I also suspect that part of why I enjoyed the fragmentary narrative is because I've been into Pathologic for 16 years and know these stories and characters so well (and for me and those like me, the game is filled to the brim with callbacks and fanservice) - but query how well would this work for someone entirely new. But it is nevertheless a unique and very special game, 100% my 2026 GOTY and a groundbreaking addition to the Pathologic canon. I have, as always, bought a copy for a whole bunch of my friends as well as for myself, because I enjoy the psychological torment of watching them never touch it.
This game has a brilliant and intriguing narrative. I enjoyed working through the mystery, the time travel mechanic, and the characters. The shabnak got my cortisol levels up, but it was manageable with a little save scumming. The story is it's strongest aspect, the game captured my interest and I lose track of time until 3am several times. To say a game is 'interesting' is really the highest praise, in my book. A few critiques I think hold it back: 1) The mental state meter is a bit too needy, it would be good to slow it down a bit or widen the 'neutral' zone so it doesn't require as much constant babysitting. It adds immersion to the theme of mental instability, but as a gameplay mechanic can get irritating. 2) Yulia's road of fate trap feels bad because it locks you out of several endings as a punishment for curiosity (the game is too lengthy to replay fully just for alternate endings.) It would be good to be able to break out of this decision after experiencing its corresponding ending. 3) The final quarter of the game suffers a bit with its tedious story pacing and lots of run arounds. I'm not sure how this could get improved, perhaps some minor side characters (like bad grief) should fully resolve earlier on, so as not to detract from the critical characters & events of the ending. Narratively id give this game a 9/10, It's not a combat heavy game. There's a little bit of action, but this is primarily a dialogue-driven mystery.
