Hooked on Panzer Corps 1. Wish there was more of it to play. Panzer Corps 2 for me is unplayable, need the Hex style board.
I only give this a positive review because it is the closest thing you can play to Panzer General (which, despite being several decades old, is still vastly superior) unless you decide to purchase an arcane PC from 20 years ago. If you're a fan of Panzer General and enjoy that style of gameplay, this one is not bad. Now for the negative parts: as people have said the AI isn't great. I think they have improved it to where it doesn't just kamikaze itself, but it has a tendency to just throw itself at your forces full bore. If you're looking to play as anyone other than the Germans for a campaign, I hope you're alright with buying DLC. There aren't as many scenarios per campaign as PG3 and the pacing is laughably fast, you literally learn one mechanic and then immediately they throw it out the window for the very next scenario as they launch you into a completely new front. As for the game's namesake: Panzers are laughably ineffective. Unless you're in a broad open field, they are effing USELESS. Infantry and even recon units are better than them in virtually every way even at the jobs which tanks were literally DESIGNED FOR such as breaking through enemy fortifications. For a game named "panzer corps", you're going to be lacking panzers pretty heavily if you want to actually succeed at any higher difficulties in the campaign. Edit: I have also noticed a trend. Not sure about the DLC campaigns yet, but in the multiple times i've run through the main campaign, the British tend to be exceedingly overpowered. In the entirety of the Russian campaign, I never fought an opponent with more than two stars. Both times I fought the British both in 1944 and 1942, they had 3-4 star units for their entire army despite somehow having as many troops as the Russians. Something tells me the UK based Slitherine has a bit of bias.

Net als panzerkorps 1 geweldig!!! (mis nog alle scenarios gemaakt door liefhebbers, maar ben nu nog de oorlog aan het uitspelen!! geweldig echt waar voor je geld!
Das Schlimmste ist, daß Ziele zum Sieg nicht gewertet werden, obwohl diese erfüllt wurden. Das führt nicht nur zur Niederlage des Szenarios, sonder auch zum Abbruch der gesamten Operation !!! Bei den DLC´S sind die Texte teils in deutsch, teils in englisch; ich erwarte aber bei einen recht teuren DLC der in deutsch angepriesen wird, daß auch eine saubere Übersetzung vorhanden ist. Auch die Missionsgestaltung ist schlecht, die KI steuert eine Einheit die man nicht verlieren darf mitten in den Feind ! Da fragt man sich, wollen die Entwickler das Spiel spielen, oder ich ? Das ist am Ende ein Actionspiel aber kein Strategiespiel. Ich habe mir die DLC´s angesehen und ich erkenne überall das gleiche Schema, daß ist sehr ärgelich !!! Außerdem etremes Mikromanagement, bei jeder Schlacht muß ich alle Helden und die Einheiten neu anpassen.

Get this, get the Axis Operations DLCs, put Erika on repeat and let rip. Plenty of fun, tonnes of vehicles to choose from, and its not a simple "along come the panzers and everyone dies" game....you will lose plenty of your men and material on the way.
