Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Jul 23 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

At first glance (e.g. opening missions) the game looks like a potential snooze-fest, "Civilisation combat without the cities" thought I. Give it time, everything changes. You will find yourself in huge moving battles with upwards of 40 very different units sprawled across a dangerous map, sending stealthy scouts out to shady territories to scout, and check for alternate routes or places of power to give your armies an advantage. Summarily, the strategy is strong in this one. You will have lots of summons, buffs, debuffs, and a plethora of magic items (of different rarities) to kit out not just heroes, but basic units too. These basic units can, in time, both level up to become more powerful, and be transformed into higher tier variants, with multiple options available - but this will cost resources which can only be looted. Stray too far from the path and you may come unstuck, high risk high reward... In an RPG-lite kinda way, the units will mean something to you - their experience, their different items, roles and functions. Losing a high investment hurts, as it should. And losing a key hero loses you the game (good to have a lose-con for bad play, no matter how good you get). There is a learning curve. On ironman mode and normal difficulty, I was forced to restart 3 times(!?) due to rookie mistakes, and I am a regular 'impossible/diety level' strategy veteran. Modest, too. Some advice: 1. Tick 'enemy scaling' off until you have learned the game. You are welcome. 2. Play Ironman mode. Because let's face it, you deserve to be punished for sending your 'lose the game if he dies' hero ahead of the army to be ambushed by three spiders. 3. If you play Ironman mode, please use captured cities to hire mercenary reinforcements each map. Don't question it, just do it. And ensure you have at least a couple hundred gold free at any time for precisely this. 4. You died, didn't you? You went Ironman on hard with enemy scaling on, didn't bother hiring battle-only reinforcements, and watched all your main characters simultaneously get eaten in the wilderness while your army faced down a force half again its size...and lost. Go to steps 1-3 Enjoy!
The tactical battles are enjoyable at first, and building up your army is satisfying. After a while though, the missions started to feel a bit too similar and I found myself losing interest. It's not a bad game, but I expected more from it.

Old school, turn-based hex and counter tactical battle game with pretty good modern graphics. It can feel a little slow at times, and despite the modern graphics, a little hard on the eyes once in a while. But the magic is still there. At first, in the early campaign, it can feel frustrating, like there isn't enough resources. You need to keep your units alive and take the right skills that can lead to gold. By the end of the campaign my army was crazy big and powerful, all elite fully maxed units and high level heroes. It takes a bit to learn how to do it but it's fun once you do. You know if you like this kind of game. And if you do, you should get this one. It's amazing. Super fun. Love it. And a ton of content. The base game has a very long campaign, many maps with some branching paths. And there are expansions.
It's alriight, very close to good but just alright. Tactics gameplay is basically Civ5/Civ6 unit combat. You got OK unit variety, but ranged/skirmish units are clearly superior to all else. Once you have double digits of units, the game slows to a crawl and you need to click way too many things, and it gets frustrating fast. For one, there is no "Undo" at all, so any missclick or rushed action cannot be reverted. This plays nicely with the convoluted UI, which feels to be fighting against you, so that you have maximum chance of missclicks to happen. Battles quickly become chores, and the "tactical depth" becomes a tactical swamp which drags on and on. And there are no options to speed up the animations so every action takes longer than it needs to be. Campaign has very limited sense of progression at all. Your heroes slowly get stronger, but the level ups don't feel too meaningful. Your units get stronger, but they also die in battle and you can recruit new ones, so you don't care about it. You get items, but they give like ~10% damage increase or 1 armor or whatever, which feels meaningless. It quickly becomes a chore to play and while the story might be interesting, it doesn't feel worth it to continue playing. Overall, I think it's not worth the 39€ price tag, and I would only recommend it if you're a fan of this particular style of combat gameplay, because you're not getting much else.
Fantasy General II is an excellent turn-based strategy game with a huge amount of depth and variety. There are many different unit, abilities and tactical possibilities, and watching your army grow throughout the campaign is extremely satisfying. The campaign is long, substancial and filled with meaningful choices that can significan change your progression. 100% Completion Time : 178.4H Completion Difficulty : 9/10 Playthroughs : 2 minimun - 3 recommended / campaign Missables : Yes - campaign choices DLC Requirements : Yes Guide recommended : Yes - for campaign choices Notable requirements : Complete all the campaign on the highest difficulty and ironman
Good game.
