Gameplay starts off great, and good content added so far. Definitely need to fix crafting systems. Your crafting level is limited by your adventuring level, which is a huge turn off to a lot of crafters who mainly like that function of the game. I enjoy both, but it's tedious to go level, then do 10 minutes of crafting to have to go fight for hours again to be able to level crafting. Also, Better gear early on from drops and have to harvest for an hour or so in game for about 10 minutes of crafting materials. Way off balance. Fighting seems ok, but very slow xp past lvl 5-6. Still being developed, but there are some major balancing issues there in my opinion.
928 hrs so far review. For the most part this game scratches the nostalgia eq1/eq2 had a baby hybrid itch. My highest level character so far is a 30 rogue, the rumors are true, the end game is non-existant and after level 28 or so the painfully slower than eq1 grind is real. There's only a handful of people on each server that are 40+ and only a couple no lifers that are lvl 50. I have a ton of hours because I played every class to lvl 15 - 20 to see what I liked, then further leveled the ones I enjoyed the most - in order in my opinion: ROGUE, Wiz, Ranger, Shaman, DireLord, Summoner, Necro. One of the biggest complaints I see in the comments is the ridiculously hard crafting system, which reminds me of the complexity EQ2 launched with then eventually dumbed it down to cater to the WoW crowd. What people seem to forget is the vision Brad had for his new baby - An MMORPG that REQUIRED people to interact with each other and made it more difficult and less rewarding for solo/non-social players - Which is why the crafting system is the way it is. It relies on other crafters providing their crafted items so you can make your more rewarding items. Such as an alchemist making flux and resin so you can make weapons/armor. The game still has a long way to go, they're missing: Races, fully finished classes, and high-mid + end game content. At their current rate of fixing bugs, modifying current systems, adding the last missing class (druid), and balancing current classes, it's probably going to be 2027 or 28 before v1.0 is released. While I hate the Early Access testing slop that is pretty much the trend now a days, I'm grateful for the chance to play, and see the benefit of the community helping out vs a paid QA company like the Cyberpunk 2077 and Quantic Lab's disastrous launch. In conclusion, the game is advancing and I'd recommend picking it up for $40, you definitely get your money's worth. 2197 hrs review: Since late Nov 2025 they increased xp to double rate for everyone that wants to experience the later content and couple of end game raid bosses now in the game before the planned server wipes. Unfortunately, at that time, they also made the announcement of server wipes in spring of 2026, so people stopped playing which impacted the frequency to form groups to experience content..... They should have announced the server wipes no more than a month prior to the planned wipe. Anyways, since my last review, they added level associated content past level 30s to end game level 50, no grinding a million level 30s till level 50.... There's still no real story line, so hardcore RP fans will get nothing from this game and stick with the other 25+ yr old MMOs. Druid is in, most of the other classes missing abilities over 20 and 40 have been added, Wizard was reworked. Summoner needs to be reworked, Bard is still not in game with no planned roadmap to add them. There are also 3 races still missing. My preferred classes has changed a bit, still LOVE rogues, then: Necro, Druid, Direlord, the other classes are a bit boring and you can setup a 1 click macro to play them, with the exception of the other tanks/healers. I don't like the introduction of keys to open lockboxes. I wish instead they'd go the route of making the chests a carried item that could either have 100% chance to open with the help of a rogue or a <25% with lockpicks that could be crafted. Having 10 different key types to open certain region's chests is annoying, especially when they take up space in your regular inventory vs getting a keyring of sorts. There are still many terrain collision bugs, thankfully only in places where grass and rocky mountain sides meet, usually the /stuck command fixes this and I've only had 1 instance where it failed and I reqd support to retrieve my stuck character. They've done some work on fixing lighting and SFX, BUT, the game still desperately needs engine performance tweaks. I can't run 2 instances of this game on 1 PC, when I try, the game window that's not in focus gets around 15fps. Yet, on the same PC with 4 monitors I can 5 box Eq2 with medium 1080p settings and have all windows visible simultaneously with 60-80fps in each.... I still recommend picking this game up for $40, compared to other mmos in the same state and price point you get far more fun in this game, they've developed far more with a lower budget than other mmos that either flopped or are about to like AoC. I would try it after their planned server wipe, they're going to introduce a complete combat system overhaul which will make the way we've been playing the game obsolete.

Amazing Game....brings me back to the olden days.
I changed my mind about this game. Once I found a server with people on it the enjoyment really improved and I like how it has that old EQ feel to it. Wonderful game and I can't get enough.
