It has been 500 years since the Deicide War severed the connection between the people and their gods. The Ravaging Lord pushed nations across Terminus to near extinction before the Dragon King himself appeared and brought an end to the bloodshed.
Now, the denizens of Terminus must uncover the mysteries of their past and unlock the silenced power of their gods. For war will come again. And this time the dragons won’t be there to save you.

Edit: I will update this if/when the game improves. Has the veneer or surface look to it of the old school mmorpg. Ripped classes, abilities, mobs, etc. But, the spirit of the game just isn't there. It's extremely unbalanced. Got green and light blue mobs one shotting while you can solo reds and oranges blindfolded. The skill system is really, really wonky. Multiple resource management systems for all the classes. The crafting system is a mishmash mess. Interfaces don't work correctly. Items duplicate or disappear sometimes. Climbing is jank af. Meanwhile they're adding more bloat onto it instead of fixing what's there. Harvesting is tedious and the sparkle sometimes doesn't show or is so vague you can't see it. The quests are some of the most boring and lifeless I have seen in a game. In-game referencing is atrocious. I'm fine with no map and using landmarkers. I played EQ at launch and still play P99. EQ wasn't vague intentionally. It was a quirk of the era and limitations. There's no reason in this day and age of high end engines that my movement, climb, combat, just animations and lock should be so completely wonky. It plays like a garage project from the 90s where the dude made his own engine and couldn't quite get it right. Graphics are... fine.. just bland and uninspiring. Lightning is not great. Foliage and area design is sub par. Found tons of breaks, holes, artifacts just going through the first hour. I stopped looking after that just from the sheer number. Classes are all over the place. Most of them make no sense logically. I get it, fantasy game. Magic. But, there still should be a logical progression or real world analogue. Otherwise, there's nothing for the player to connect to. That's the best way to describe this game. Disconnected. From reality, its users, and its original intention. Old dude would be turning over in his grave if he saw this crap. It just feels like a lifeless knock off where they didn't understand what made these games good. Now look.. I know this is early access. But, that is supposed to mean it is almost ready for the public and they need some help polishing and updating it. This is not even close and they don't listen to advice so it feels like a money grab and everyone clocked off.

The nostalgia lenses hit with this one. I grew up playing EQ but with the population and such I've stopped playing that. Here comes Pantheon. Stoked got a few friends to buy the game so we could play together. They fell off, the shard I started on turns dead while I'm in my mid 20's *restarts on a more populated shard* Can't find groups because people in the guild are on for 8 hrs at a time. Multi-box I'll heal my own tank and solo content jumping into groups when I can. Oh pvp shards in a game that is maybe only a 10th complete? What a wonderful waste of time for the 10 people asking. Ah now you have to merge shards because pvp flopped I'm sure. Maybe if the Devs listened to players and made more content, respecting the player's time and excitement over the game they'd of gotten somewhere. Optimization is poor, I love seeing mobs with a 10 foot shadow trail, looks like 5 of the same mob in a row and is embarrassing. Nobody cares about graphics as much as they want to play a GOOD GAME and this game could have been good if the Devs actually cared about important things rather then visual ports pvp and other things like nerfs and balances in again a 10th of a complete game. Let the game be broken, make content, make a list of the bugs/breaks that make classes too strong and hotfix with the content release. Took dex from shammy buffs and removed con scaling? Just fix it where it didn't fall off with Elk's constitution. Or remove Elk's con from the game till you fix it, not nerf healers overall. The game is abandonware by now, don't buy it. Through the nostalgia lens I'd give it an 8/10 but coming to reality and the fact that this game won't work as a solo leveling experience while quckly dying before it ever even got anywhere. It's going to be a 1/10 solo experience very soon
I have over 200 hours from the steam launch. Seen they were doing a PTR realm and came back to check the changes. Only major featured added in the year since the steam launch was mail system. Went to use the mail to transfer gear to another character and the mail disappeared with no record of it being sent. TLDR: One year of development equated to a nonfunctioning mail system and nothing else. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Extremely unintuitive.... No ingame map.... Has potential but.... no cigar.
The dev team are just wasting time. They don't know what they're doing or have a meaningful roadmap. Don't buy the game in its current state.
edit: DO NOT START. its best to wait for the over hall and server wipe. hopefully before july. If you were a child, but early adopter of Everquest back when only tech geeks knew what it was, or had the stuff to play it. If you liked that feeling of being alone while doing something time consuming, this is your game. One thing I think a lot of MMO players forget is that everquest/runescape/wow is not coming back. Most of the reason they felt so real, was that the internet was so new. people were experiencing gaming online sometimes for the first time.. ever. People still left their homes in the evening just say hi. Players still thought everyone they met was a real person just playing the game. Now every time you see someone it could be a bot, or someone boxing, or it could just be a currency seller with 8 computers never intending to play... Be the change in the MMO you play, dont wait to find something that doesnt exsist anymore. There is something comfortable about it, I think that is why it got the funding it did.
horrible game devs, basic gameplay so sad i played for longer than 2 hours trying to polish this turd. Save 40 dollars this game is awfull, and seems to be getting even worse. Open world with loading screens randomly... garbage
Bought into the hype of a new EverQuest and gave the game an honest shot. The novelty wears off pretty quickly and it’s clear with how development has gone since early releasing that there won’t ever be a full release of this game. Save your money, at this price there are just so many better options out there.
Its not a game worth playing . Bad development team whom insisted on the idea of wiping in early access when you had paid for the game. There are so many MMORPG in the market and 1 new upcoming 1 like Monster and memories which had better plan than this dev team. Dont waste your time on this game . Players will always be splitted with wipe in mind and wont commit to play the game and feel the game which are majority of the player base . then players whom commited to playing the game eventually have their progression wiped. Stats wise is so messed up if you log into the game you will see strength = melee damages and int = spell damage but willful and amature dev had changed all that to con = hit and alot wierd stats change which cause half the players to drop the game. Wait for Monster and memories which has early access as initial launch and no wipes. Eventually 1.0 launch new servers will be launched.
