Now, the denizens of Terminus must uncover the mysteries of their past and unlock the silenced power of their gods. For war will come again. And this time the dragons won’t be there to save you.

/shrug it wasnt super from off the bat from my perspective. im an old school daoc main and mordred fiend and this game didnt catch me like the early grind daoc did. if i could give this game a middle rating i would but since i cant i would not recommend
It's... slow. Everything is slow. Leveling is slow. Grouping is slow. Traveling is slow. Crafting is slow. Trading is slow. The game eschews every quality of life enhancement made in the MMO genre over the last 28 years to put player emphasis and reliance on an outdated social concept. There is a reason modern MMOs moved to grouping queues, instanced dungeons, auction houses, minimized corpse runs, minimaps, flexible gear stats, duplicated camps, and viable solo progression builds for every class: people don't want to have to deal with other people in every single aspect of their gaming experience.

What this game isnt: A game that will hold your hand, drown you in quests, or feed your ADD with a new shiny every 5 seconds. What this game is: An early access game that does a great job of scratching that nostalgia itch for a classic Everquest experience with some quality of life improvements. If you want to get lost, explore, and figure it out as you go, keep reading. I like this dev team and the idea of the game they are building so I bought this in early access just to support them. After playing the game it felt quite similar to my classic Everquest days. I've gotten almost a hundred hours so far for my $40 (more then a lot of other games in my library) and am still excited to log in and explore what the game has to offer. Pros: -Old school MMO feel with challenge, group focused content, slow paced combat, dedicated CC role, and exploration focused gameplay. Still have opportunities to solo. -Good offering of zones and levels to play through for early access. -Have tried a tank, two healers, and a few dps to lvl 10 or higher, generally all fun to play with different feel. -Music is great. Sound effects generally good, with some truly epic examples such rain and thunder sound effects when a storm rolls in. -Graphics good enough to get lost in the world and have a good time. -Good lighting effects, some truly dark places at night. Exploring a pitch black cave seeing only 10 feet in front of you with your torch and not knowing what's around the corner is truly atmospheric. -Graphics/lighting, animations, and spell effects frequently improving. Cons: -Character customization is limited in early access. -Some melee animations and combat sounds not crisp or impactful. -Some classes feel like they have less skills/buttons to push then other classes in the lower levels. -Lore and story limited in early access. -Players that require a guided experience with a lot of quest focused gameplay may find these lacking. -Players looking for cutting edge graphics and animation will likely be disappointed. -Players looking for high apm/action combat are not likely to find that experience here.
The game is fun and has a lot of potential! Scratches the itch of an old school EverQuest-like MMORPG. I'm only giving this a negative review because there's no /dance emote.. Jk but actually because the character models are meh.. the Dwarf is the same model as the Ogre just scaled down.. the Halfling is just the Human model scaled down.. the Elf is the Human model scaled down with elf ears.. the Dark Myr is again the human model with different color skin and fish-like ears. I would like to AT LEAST see new Dwarf and Halfling models. Really hoping those were not meant to be the final character models because if they are.. well that's just extremely lazy design.. and that does not give me hope for all the unreleased races either. My guess is they'll all be small variations of the same few models. Prove me wrong Visionary Realms and I'll gladly revise this review to positive!
Its not a game worth playing . Bad development team whom insisted on the idea of wiping in early access when you had paid for the game. There are so many MMORPG in the market and 1 new upcoming 1 like Monster and memories which had better plan than this dev team. Dont waste your time on this game . Players will always be splitted with wipe in mind and wont commit to play the game and feel the game which are majority of the player base . then players whom commited to playing the game eventually have their progression wiped. Stats wise is so messed up if you log into the game you will see strength = melee damages and int = spell damage but willful and amature dev had changed all that to con = hit and alot wierd stats change which cause half the players to drop the game. Wait for Monster and memories which has early access as initial launch and no wipes. Eventually 1.0 launch new servers will be launched.
Bought into the hype of a new EverQuest and gave the game an honest shot. The novelty wears off pretty quickly and it’s clear with how development has gone since early releasing that there won’t ever be a full release of this game. Save your money, at this price there are just so many better options out there.
Lucily i read how many hours i could play before refund ended. The graphics are worse than phone games, combat clunkier than original eq, but it was something new i wanted to try after over 10 years of development. Not impressed, instead of charging for early access they shoild be paying people to test it.
edit: DO NOT START. its best to wait for the over hall and server wipe. hopefully before july. If you were a child, but early adopter of Everquest back when only tech geeks knew what it was, or had the stuff to play it. If you liked that feeling of being alone while doing something time consuming, this is your game. One thing I think a lot of MMO players forget is that everquest/runescape/wow is not coming back. Most of the reason they felt so real, was that the internet was so new. people were experiencing gaming online sometimes for the first time.. ever. People still left their homes in the evening just say hi. Players still thought everyone they met was a real person just playing the game. Now every time you see someone it could be a bot, or someone boxing, or it could just be a currency seller with 8 computers never intending to play... Be the change in the MMO you play, dont wait to find something that doesnt exsist anymore. There is something comfortable about it, I think that is why it got the funding it did.
Extremely unintuitive.... No ingame map.... Has potential but.... no cigar.
