Oldie but a goldie!
Man, this DLC shows a lot of improvement with the game mechanics. The controls are still a bit clunky, but I got used to them in the main game. This time around, though, it uses the remote control mechanic in a much more creative way than I imagined. I won't go into too much detail to avoid spoilers, but I loved the pinball game with Melvin. That part alone was a lot of fun.

Overlord: Raising Hell is a hilarious adventure that relentlessly mocks fantasy tropes with sharp wit. Its heroes are corrupted parodies of classic archetypes: gluttonous halflings, narcissistic elves, greedy dwarves, and lustful paladins. Meanwhile, you can choose to be either an evil or an even more evil protagonist. Unlike games that take evil choices too seriously, Overlord succeeds by making villainy fun through satire rather than making it come across as foolish or deeply unintelligent. Combat consists of hack-and-slash gameplay combined with commanding colorful minion swarms (browns, reds, greens, and blues) through Pikmin-style squad control. The minions are the best feature of the Overlord franchise; their chaotic personalities steal the show as they loot everything, wear gear such as pumpkins and chef hats, gleefully raze villages on your orders, and willingly sacrifice themselves without hesitation. If a blue minion cannot reach another minion before their spirit dissipates, they are permanently lost. Rebuilding your army requires life force, which often means grinding enemies (or cute wildlife) for color-coded resources after tough battles. Dead minions also lose their equipment, which might require you to backtrack to previous areas to find replacements. You cannot manually save; the game relies on a checkpoint system, so a death can cost up to 30 minutes of progress in some sections. I also found that the camera can become obstructed, especially in narrow caves and indoor areas, because its placement is largely automated. I found these to be minor issues, however, so Overlord earns a recommendation for a place in any gamer's library thanks to its unique charm and humor.
Still an excellent game but a torture to play on Steam Deck. Crashes half the time after launch (but works stable after that). Target lock on is completely broken - each time you try and use it - the lock on snaps and changes target, breaking the action. Some menus (forging for example) are completely dysfunctional and require you to change control scheme to K&M. I would carefully recommend this game if you willing to go through some technical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. It became classic for a reason and I doubt we`ll get a remaster anytime soon.
