No remarkable journey is achieved without great effort. In Outward, the cold of the night or an infected wound can be as dangerous as a predator lurking in the dark. Explore the vast world of Aurai solo or in Co-op. The Definitive Edition features both DLCs and quality of life improvements.

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A true survival RPG! There is definitely a learning curve and the start of the game is hard. But after a couple of hours mechanics are becoming natural. The game is incredible well balanced. So much to explore!
Outward is charming game that asks: how would a regular person fair in a fantasy world as an adventurer. This isn't a simulator, at it's core it is an adventure game but one that allows people to do co-op couch play to take down enemies, explore ruins, and survive while discovering the history and lore of the world. This game isn't without it's flaws, the controls can be clunky at first, combat is simple but can be frustratingly difficult, and travel is slow, forcing you to travel on foot going from town to town. But unlike other games, it adds to the game's charm and makes the world feel real. Defiently worth playing and I look foward to what the developers do in the sequel to make the game better.
It cost less than a fiver but I regret spending even that. The graphics are relatively crude and it's far from an open world, hemmed in by unscalable cliffs everywhere. The World is indeed huge but sparsely furnished so travel is tedious. Combat is very difficult with a character underpowered by default and this is exacerbated by a rather obscure skill progression, unaffordable because loot is worth diddly squat, the absence of saves and by the 'snakes & ladders' mechanic which sends you back to the start after a defeat. I have other games that I find hard, but I still play for interest. As Outward's quests cannot be abandoned (or even avoided in some cases) I have reached an impasse so this is the first game ever that I shall wipe from my PC as I think it is literally a waste of (storage) space.
After 105 hours and beating the main campaign + the DLCs, this game is a frustrating recommend. The game's best feature is also its worst: there's no saving and when you die, something happens to your character. Sometimes this can lead to interesting scenarios, but most of the time you are simply kicked while down. And combined with this game's marketing about 'great effort' and 'survival is earned, not given', the game can come off as elitist while simultaneously including mechanics with no tutorial, only discovery where you are punished for doing it wrong. All that being said, there is plenty of fun to be had, and you can see a lot of love and care put into the game and its mechanics. I hope the sequel improves the formula and doesn't double down on the punishments for the sake of catering to a hardcore crowd.
