Otherwar is a surprising mash-up of Tower Defense and Bullet Hell games. Build and manage fortifications to defend the Gate of Heaven against the Hordes of Hell, while soaring over the battlefields as the defender Angel, and meet the monsters in direct combat!

cool idea. taking two opposite genres, smashes them together problem is its failing at both TD game where you set up towers using strategy and afk well watching BH games where your nonstop dodging bullets this game has large amounts of nothing where its just you endlessly auto attacking the waves never dodging 2/10 for tower defense no real strategy 2/10 for bullet hell - almost no upgrades - its on the slowwww side.... + 6$ how i think you could fix this game remove your ability to attack your on the left side of the screen and enemies come at you from the right every enemy fires at you well alive you dodge waves of blasts well picking up money/buffs that boost your towers add more out of level upgrades add different playable characters with stats. this one is faster, this one buffs towers more, this one makes money if they are standing still. this would make the game non stop action/building
Two of three endless levels can only be beat by stacking attack speed upgrades, which are RNG. Absolutely no semblance of balance.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Not balanced properly
There's too much meta progression to make this fun - difficulty is entirely dependent on how many upgrades you've unlocked more than tower strategy.
The main reason I'm not recommending is that this game does not have a toggle for firing. So the entire time you're playing you're pointlessly forced to hold down the left mouse button. Which to be fair is fairly common. But it hurts my wrist and hand so I really don't want to play a game that hurts. Especially when the rest of it isn't really clicking. The difficulty is definitely not something that ramps well. For a first level (which is all I played though I had to do it several times) the default was medium and it definitely seems to have a very specific way it expects you to play it to beat it. Which personally I've never liked. It takes the freedom away from the player by having a "right" way to do it.
Otherwar Review
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Otherwar delivers a fresh take on bullet-hell and tower defense, combining the two genres in a way that feels innovative and intense. After spending time with it, I can say it’s a solid game with a few areas for improvement. Here’s why I think Otherwar is worth a try:

Gameplay - Addictive and Challenging Mix
The unique blend of bullet-hell action with strategic tower defense is highly engaging. You’ll be juggling precise movements to avoid projectiles while managing towers and defenses, which creates an exhilarating challenge. If you’re a fan of either genre, the hybrid gameplay here is likely to draw you in. Difficulty Curve: It’s tough but fair, and as you progress, each wave feels like a test of skill and planning. Variety: The different towers, upgrades, and enemy types add enough depth to keep gameplay fresh.

Visuals and Sound - Atmospheric and Effective
The visuals are simple but effective, with a style that captures the dark, intense feel of the game. The soundtrack complements the atmosphere, adding tension without overwhelming the action.

Room for Improvement - Content and Balance
While Otherwar is highly enjoyable, more content and balance adjustments would make it even better. A few additional levels or enemy types could add to the variety, and some minor tweaks to difficulty pacing would enhance the experience, especially for newcomers.

Final Thoughts - A Unique and Fun Experience
Otherwar is a standout for fans of bullet-hell and tower defense games, with gameplay that’s as challenging as it is satisfying. If you’re looking for something new with a strategic twist, Otherwar is definitely worth a shot. Recommended for players who enjoy a skill-based, genre-blending challenge!
yeah not well balanced you get overwhelmed fast .Not fun. so its a no from me. Progression seems very slow.
Score: 2/5 The Good 1. Moderately strong visual style/direction. Most things are easily distinguishable, although some creatures visually have weapons (guns?) they don't use. 2. Music is good and fits the darker style/theme of the game. Audio/SFXs are good, although the one for hitting an enemy with a projectile gets grating within an hour due to it occurring constantly. The Bad 1. Heavy imbalance, bad player character scaling, and very high difficulty at the beginning of a save file. Missing a few shots or hitting the wrong target or not being mentally locked in for a few seconds can end a 15 minute attempt at a level. Meta-progression thru skill tree is too strong, and looks like it makes the mid game a joke compared to early game. Not worth finding out firsthand, so take that with a grain of salt. 2. Heavily restricted player creativity/strategy. I dealt with lock-and-key style problem-solving most of the time. There's one, maybe two with some skill tree unlocks, optimal strategies for each of the maps, including the order for which you build each tower. I am very much not the target audience for this part of the game. 3. Mouse hand/fingers got tired within an hour as a seasoned, but non-pro, FPS gamer. Should have had an option to toggle PC's projectiles from manual to auto shooting. 4. Slow, repetitive gameplay that quickly becomes tedious as your skill is tested less than your mental fortitude/focus to keep from boredom or making mistakes from mental disengagement/fatigue.
