Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You

Le jeu est vraiment sympa sauf que point important: Au début du jeu je dirais les 30 premières minutes, j'ai eu un bug. Je ne recevais plus aucune info. J'ai été voir sur internet la solution et quand je regardais ce que les gens recevais à ce moment précis, je compris donc que moi ça avait bug puisque j'étais exactement au même endroit sauf que je ne recevais pas le fameux coup de téléphone qui me débloquait les informations suivantes. Donc, j'ai refait une nouvelle partie comme j'étais au début ça me faisait chier mais bon, c'était ok. Là, 3 heures de jeu plus tard, je me retrouve avec le MÊME PROBLEME. J'ai regarder sur internet et effectivement, je ne débloque pas le dossier qui me fera avancer l'histoire. J'ai absolument tout re vérifier, en épluchant chaque élément plusieurs fois et en comparant avec des vidéos d'autres personnes et je suis donc bel et bien bloquer sans possibilité de continuer l'histoire car je ne reçois pas l'information qu'il me faut pour avancer. J'ai vraiment la haine.

Orwell takes an interesting premise and turns the investigatory gameplay into clicking and dragging blue-underlined phrases into a database, or navigating conflicting yellow-underlined “choices.” The music adds some weight to the situation, the story escalates well, and there are real consequences to your actions. While it becomes a little over the top, that is to be expected in a video game. Overall, it was an interesting experience—especially when thinking about the modern surveillance systems we have today, such as databases and Flock cameras. It really made me think about privacy concerns, and how individuals will sacrifice personal freedoms in order to exist in a society. However, there are often bad actors who will use those restrictions to push their own beliefs, frequently using phrases like “children’s safety” while actively restricting freedoms. I still think about the stories surrounding Flock cameras where police officers looked up their ex-girlfriends' locations at different times; if you Google the story, you can find several variations of this happening with guys in San Jose, Kentucky, and Texas. I am not against the idea of being able to go through people’s information when searching for a crime, but there need to be heavy safeguards, or individuals' privacy and freedoms will always be invalidated. This raises the question of who makes those choices, and what is considered a valid reason to override a person’s individual freedoms. The fact of the matter is, I don’t think our society could ever be built on the idea of simultaneously respecting individual freedoms and maintaining public order; however, I still cannot advocate for an organization's ability to rifle through a person’s private information. That being said, it was certainly fun to do so in a video game. While there are some things that could have been improved and I would have liked a bit more content, the game was meant to be a short, contained experience, and it does that job well.

This game was an absolute mind warp. Would happily play again to get all the endings.

A really fun storyline that makes you wonder about the plot and shocks you with certain plot twists. The gameplay is also really simple, which allows you to stick to the story and focus on how to proceed. It just makes me wonder where my attention span goes when I read a book...

Ну что же, прошла за одиг присест. По сути и названию игры понимала, что играю "за плохих", но в процессе оказывается, что мы ищем террористов. Так что слежка и сбор информации понравились, я с удовольствием следила за ходом истории, в попытке понять, кто же настойщий виновник. "Мой" куратор так же был мягкий собеседник, сочувствующий потенциальным преступникам, так что мы типа, да, понятно, но это не меняет факта, что ты убиваешь людей. Концовка, на которую я вышла, оставила неприятный привкус. Ибо террорист по сути вышел сухим из воды, хотя net positive конечно присутствует. В целом захватывает, с удовольствием прошла. Из-за огромного кол-ва текста рекомендую лишь на родном играть )
