Amazing game, but unfortunately it's no longer supported, and certain bugs will never be fixed, along with it's pcvr technical issues. I can't even play the game anymore on pcvr, whenever I go to boot the game, I see a loading screen, then it blank screens, I have tried every possible fix, but no dice. 10/10 game, just trash devs, that left as soon as they dropped their final big update. THANKS DOWNPOUR!
The game has been abandoned by devs. They have confirmed that the game will no longer be getting developer support or any new content or updates

i would love to recommend this game. however, the graphics are terrible, the gunplay feels awful and tactical assault vr does everything this game does but better. if they just reverted the graphics back to how they were originally and made the gunplay feel more engaging, i think this could be a great game.
The game was amazing before they dumbed down the graphics for the quest users. Idk why they couldn't leave the pc graphics alone and let the quest look as crap as it needs to. core game-play remains the same "if" you can get a lobby without kids that really shouldn't be playing this game anyway. They run around trying to do the same dumb troll crap they watch YouTubers do and team killing. Honestly they need to add something that auto kicks / short term bans players that tk within the first couple mins or so of a match starting would fix a lot of the problems with the game as its sits. That and up the graphical fidelity of the pc version literally no reason this cant be done. as it sits I would not buy this game until they fix most of the problems and find a way to deal with the little kids killing the game.
don't get me wrong, i love onward, but the devs are neglecting the pc version like Drake neglects his kids, my main problems are the stutters in FPS on the large maps, and the voice chat stuff not "connecting", but apart from that it's still one of my favorite VR games
I used to really enjoy this game, even when it went from amazing and realistic to being downgraded in quality for the quest. I really didn't enjoy the changes they keep making and I'm sad to say that the 2.0 update might be the last time i play. The AI is really easy, wave spawns make co-op (the main mode i play) trivial, the character models look worse than ever to the point that it's embarrassing, and the online scene is near death. This is not the game that I knew and fell in love with, this is something different entirely. I want a mil-sim where i have to use my wits, not a mindless arena shooter that i literally can fall asleep standing while getting shot at. Fix your game, downpour, its really sad. force meta to actually upgrade their standalone, don't screw it up for the rest of us.
As a long time lover of this game, I am seriously conflicted about a thumbs up or down here. I want to give it a thumbs up, just because it really is the best VR milsim you can play right now. On the other hand, I played this game before they broke it to allow a broader range audience. It has never been the same. There ARE updates, but the raging problems like sharpshooters that can snipe you through rocks, or they seem to "shoot from thier elbows" and they break the plane of cover..or literally shooting you when thier backs are turned. Add to that they still have not added the ability to reload a grenade launcher. But BY FAR..the worst thing this has going for it is the way the server is handled. If I create my own server, I can't kick anyone without a vote. With the influx of "squeekers" or little kids that scream and play this like COD RUINS my experience. You can even try to ask them, "hey, can you leave?" They wont..you start the game..then they waste your whole squad and leave the server. There is SO MUCH RIGHT with this game, yet so many simple things for the player experience WRONG. the AI is so...broke..it is either way too easy, or nearly impossible. Mercenary mode is a decent idea..but once again..get to the 4th mission and sharpshooters will waste your whole team, even if you do everything right. Not a huge fan of the PvP aspect..im more into the squad vs AI mode, and while I still play it..there are times I just shake my head and shut it off. Until I can control the server I make to kick out bad players, and other simple fixes are made, I have to thumbs down this one. I would recommend TA VR, but that is WAY worse with the kids killing everyone in the lobby. Fix the way I can control the server I make. The vote system is fine, but the HOST SHOUKD BE ABLE TO KICK.
I really Enjoyed it until PCVR support went to hell. It will no longer boot for my VIVE. RIP all the fun I had it it. DON'T BUY IF YOU HAVE PCVR. There is a chance it won't even run. Just loading screen or blank screen.
Do not get this game, they downgraded the graphics and removed a bunch of the features a few years ago. I was hoping they would eventually add them back in but checking back a few years later it looks like they never did.
Was great, ruined when changes were made to bring quality down for the quest across the board after Downpour was acquired by Facebook instead of having separate levels of fidelity for systems.
