This isn't a great game, but it isn't a bad one either. It's the kind of game where you'll enjoy it for a brief moment, and then by the end, everything turns out to be a surface level experience that makes it hard to remember unless someone brings it up.. I really loved the themes of hope and responsibility that this game was going for from the beginning, but it failed to capture that feeling by the end.
Also, talking about the "peak 4th wall break" this game is so famous for, from my personal experience, it's so overtly and explicitly shoved into the game that it feels more like a mechanic than a 4th wall break. I mean, a 4th wall break has to be subtle and masterfully executed without telling the player that it's a 4th wall break. But this game just throws it at you directly by literally saying, "Look, this is a 4th wall break. Now go check your desktop for a file named 'oneshot answer' to find the code for this lock." :|
Now, if you don't have a problem with that and you're just looking for a fun game to spend some time with, then it's a good game for that. Just don't expect anything. But for me, I would've rather played something else if I hadn't latched onto the hope that the story would eventually become something truly overwhelming. 6/10 There should be another button between positive and negative in review box.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

In the first 40mins of this game, this game has already impressed me far more than almost any other game I've played. This game is something special and I would already highly recommend it. Update: Having now completed the game, I can safely say that was one of the most unique and best games I've ever played, Everything about this game is as close to perfection as it could be, the soundtrack, the dialogue, the puzzles, the art. If you are at all considering this game, buy it, you will not regret it.
OneShot is an amazing experience that everyone should go through. I won't say much, in order to avoid spoilers, but it has some Undertale vibes with less fights (none actually) and more puzzles. Speaking of the puzzles, most are pretty easy and I'm not sure if I should even call them puzzles, there is a decently difficult one and a few things (again, not sure if they fall into the puzzle category) which I definitely wouldn't have been able to do without internet assistance. Which is definitely a negative, but it's a negative far too small to outshine the awesome journey that is this game. Also, unlike Undertale, you can rebind your controls, which already makes it a million times better. The last thing I think I can say that should be interesting and spoiler-free is that OneShot manages to achieve immersion through completely out of the ordinary means, almost like a different take on immersion, if you will. Pretty cool soundtrack too, but the music that I really enjoyed was only in one area. Anyway, as I said, it's amazing, you should totally get and play it.
really nice ost but im sorry niko 😭😭😭😭forgive me niko😭😭😭😭
I am 45 years old. Probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I'm a single father. My son is 14 now. He got this game for Christmas a while back. By the end of the first week he'd already spent over 20 hours in it. I wasn't thrilled. We didn't spend much time together anymore, and I figured I'd lost another battle to the internet. So I made a Steam account and bought the game myself. I had no idea what I was doing. I wandered around, talked to everyone, got lost, and somehow still felt like I was going the right way. Eventually my son sat down beside me. He didn't spoil puzzles. He just watched. Every now and then he'd quietly say, "Try talking to them again," or, "Don't worry, you'll understand later." I don't think he was talking about the game. After we finished, we went for a walk. We hadn't done that in a long time. It's strange. This is a game about carrying a light through a broken world, but somehow it ended up bringing a little light back into ours. I know that's corny. Niko would probably just smile.
NIKO I AM RIGHT HERE I AM RIGHT HERER I AM RIGHT HERE BRO I AM RIGHT HERER
Is absolutely love this game, brought a couple tears to my eyes as the end of the game neared and during the end of the game, this was my first ever puzzle/adventure game I've ever played and it's the best i'll probably ever play, had to use some clues on the internet as I got lost a bunch with how the game put some of the answers to the puzzles in your actual pc files or on your desktop screen which was actually extremely cool, It would be awesome if this game had a sequel or a 2nd game but only time will tell, overall the game was absolutely amazing and i'd recommend it to anyone and litteraly anyone out there that has a attention span for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
an extremely creative game with a delightful story. also a very fun 100% experience despite the game’s insistence on playing it only once if you’re on a steam deck/linux, get the world machine edition. the original doesn’t work particularly well on linux systems apparently
