I really like this game and played it before during demo phase. It's is rough around the edges, but the core gameplay is solid and addicting and the music is nice. I recomend it if you like games with RNG about making builds that'll stack the odds in your favor. During gameplay you explore the map, plan which fights to pick and build your "deck" by playing casino minigames, winning battles and spending cash in shops and on loot chests. During combat RNGesus takes the wheel, and you see how your build plays out in practice. I never felt I died unfairly, I just wanted to try again and make a more lucky build, with better synergies.
solid pick-3 roguelite. plays reasonably fast, fun synergies with interesting mechanics (both micro and macro), good music, art is a lot of fun playing up its garish loopiness, gaudy ui is a lot to take in at first but it becomes intuitive. underrated

Pretty fun game! One of the rare games ive gotten every achievement for. Would pay full price/10
Not for me, I don't like the mechanic that forces you to go to a spot or the guards eat up your space, allow me to explore like a real dungeon. Timers are stupid in a deck builder type rogue-like. Slay the Spire doesn't force me to pick a card within a time limit right? Same idea.
One Armed Bandit is the kind of indie roguelite that succeeds almost entirely because of how confidently it embraces its unusual premise. Developed and published by Gral, the game blends roguelike progression, slot machine mechanics, and build experimentation into a surprisingly addictive experience where every spin has the potential to completely change the outcome of a run. At first glance, the concept may sound like a novelty joke built around casino aesthetics, but after spending time with its systems, it becomes clear that the game is far more strategic and carefully designed than its bizarre premise initially suggests. Beneath the flashing lights and spinning reels lies a genuinely engaging roguelite that constantly rewards experimentation and creative thinking. The entire gameplay loop revolves around constructing a deadly slot machine capable of producing powerful combinations during combat. Instead of relying on traditional card decks or standard RPG abilities, players gradually fill their machine with symbols that activate attacks, effects, multipliers, and utility bonuses whenever matching patterns align. Some symbols specialize in direct offensive power, while others generate currency, improve survivability, or amplify neighboring effects. The brilliance of the system is how naturally it encourages synergy-building. A weak machine can quickly become devastating once the right combinations start appearing together, and discovering those combinations becomes one of the most satisfying parts of the experience. What keeps the gameplay consistently entertaining is the balance between randomness and player control. Although every spin contains an element of luck, players still have significant influence over how their machines evolve. Careful planning matters because selecting the wrong upgrades or cluttering the reels with inefficient symbols can ruin an otherwise promising run. Successful players gradually learn how to build around specific strategies rather than relying entirely on chance. This creates a strong sense of progression not just through unlocks, but through player knowledge and understanding of the game’s systems. Combat encounters are fast and energetic, with each battle creating constant anticipation as the reels spin to determine attacks and bonuses. There is an undeniable thrill in watching a carefully constructed setup suddenly trigger a chain reaction of massive damage and cascading effects. Boss fights are particularly effective because they push builds to their limits while forcing players to adapt under pressure. Some bosses punish overly defensive strategies, while others demand high burst damage or sustained combos to survive. Even failed runs often feel entertaining because the game’s systems create unpredictable moments that keep every encounter dynamic. Outside of combat, the game introduces additional gambling-inspired activities that strengthen its overall theme. Players can take risks through various side mechanics that offer larger rewards at the cost of potential setbacks, reinforcing the feeling that every decision carries both opportunity and danger. The roguelite structure also gives the game strong replayability since every run presents different upgrade paths, item combinations, and build possibilities. There is always another strategy to test or another absurd combination waiting to be discovered, which makes the “one more run” mentality extremely difficult to resist. Visually, One Armed Bandit uses a colorful pixel-art style that fits its casino-inspired atmosphere perfectly. The graphics are not technically groundbreaking, but the game compensates with personality and charm. The animations surrounding successful spins and combo activations are especially satisfying, giving battles an exciting sense of momentum whenever powerful effects trigger across the reels. Enemy designs are quirky and exaggerated, matching the game’s playful tone without taking itself too seriously. The overall presentation feels polished enough to support the gameplay while maintaining a lightweight arcade-like identity. The sound design also contributes heavily to the game’s addictive quality. Slot machine effects, reward jingles, and combat sounds all combine to create a satisfying feedback loop that constantly encourages continued play. The soundtrack maintains a lively energy throughout runs, helping reinforce the game’s chaotic but enjoyable atmosphere. Every successful combo feels rewarding not only mechanically but audiovisually, which is incredibly important in a game built entirely around repeated spins and escalating chain reactions. One of the few areas where the game may frustrate some players is its dependence on RNG. Even though strategy plays a major role, unlucky rolls or poor upgrade options can still derail a run before a build has time to fully develop. Players who prefer highly deterministic roguelites may occasionally become irritated when carefully planned strategies fall apart due to unfortunate randomness. However, this unpredictability is also part of the game’s identity, and for many players it will likely become part of the appeal rather than a major flaw. The game’s pacing is another strong aspect. Runs move quickly, upgrades arrive frequently, and the game rarely wastes time with unnecessary filler content. It understands exactly what makes its mechanics entertaining and focuses heavily on maximizing that enjoyment without dragging the experience down with excessive complexity. This efficient design helps the game remain engaging even during longer play sessions. One Armed Bandit stands out because it transforms what could have been a gimmick into a genuinely compelling gameplay system. By combining roguelite progression with slot machine mechanics in a thoughtful and strategic way, Gral created an experience that feels both fresh and highly replayable. It may not have the massive production values or endless content of larger roguelikes, but its originality, addictive progression loop, and satisfying build experimentation make it one of the more memorable indie roguelites in recent years. Players who enjoy discovering broken combinations, embracing controlled chaos, and experimenting with unconventional systems will likely find themselves returning to it again and again. Rating: 8/10
Very fun roguelike with surprising depth. Hits the slots rush you'd get at a casino for way way way cheaper. You can get screwed by RNG, but the game is fast enough you can easily go "one more game" for an entire evening. And once you get that amazing build, the game will reward you with satisfying spin after spin. Played this for ~15 hours as the demo just for content.
Very random and rough around it's design, but quick and simple to play, and choices can be meaty at times. Has a certain charm to it for sure
Extremely fun you would think that using a slot machine to fight would get annoying but with all the cool ways you can stack the slot machine and the amount of interesting combos this game is incredibly fun also great sense of humor + art
i've waited for this game since i first played the demo a year ago glad to see it finally came out and congrats to the dev for making a fun game
I feel I have no control over whats going on (though there is clearly some item strategy involved and the artwork is a little crude. All that said, its an experience and I regret nothing. In essence this is a anti-gambling gambling game, which is amusing in of itself and reminds me vaguely of the origins of monopoly being anti-capitalist.
