Once Human is a Strange Worlds Survival Game set in a strange, post-apocalyptic future. Unite with friends to fight monstrous enemies, uncover secret plots, compete for resources, and build your own territory. Once, you were merely human. Now, you have the power to remake the world.
Revenue comes from in-game items and microtransactions, which our price-based model doesn't estimate. The player count below is how many people own it, not what they spent.

About
You wake up in the middle of nowhere. You'll have to brace yourself for the cruelty of nature (from monsters to lack of food); however, Stardust's influence does not restrict to living things, it also affects the soil and water. Eating polluted food and drinking dirty water will reduce your Sanity. When your Sanity drops, your max HP would drop accordingly. To eat or not to eat, it's a question.
Battle numerous enemies that are once human, and challenge bosses from another dimension to gain powerful items and ease Stardust pollution. You are not only fighting for yourself, but also fighting for the survivors.
With about 100 gun blueprints divided into seven categories for you to collect and craft, every loot grants you something new. Did I mention accessories and gun perks? Right, they are the heroes here. If our current weapon cannot satisfy your need, you can add different parts and perks, upgrade your firearm to your heart's content.
Use Territory Core to build a house of your own. You can keep a practical style, jamming everything needed in a small room; or you can design a townhouse with a patio, kitchen, garage… The best part is, you can relocate your territory any time you want!
Delve into the truth of Stardust, find out where it came from, and what it wants. In the journey of seeking truth, you may feel alone, but you are never alone. There are several factions in the world, some can be violent and hostile, others might be friendly and helpful. Explore human settlements to learn their stories or exterminate bosses without leaving a name for survivors to praise, the choices are yours.

The monetization has overwhelmed and consumed what used to be a pretty fun game a couple years ago. What it is now is not a game, but rather some sort of weird moneytrap made by AI, reviewed by AI, and devoid of any soul or purpose.
I love this game, I am an Official Content Creator for the game so take what I say with a grain of salt. I have played this game off and on since launch. A friend of mine got me into it and I fell in love with the combat and the cosmetics. Let me list pros and cons starting with Cons. Cons: Plot holes in story.. Lack of Controller support Building has a LOT of issues from missing pieces to very finnicky snap features Cosmetics are EXTREMELY overpriced and half the time glitchy. Cosmetics are also usually all in the same style Alot of things simply... don't fit in the world? The original Tele towers were perfect, but then they were changed to crystals which didn't fit, and now... world stones that are monsters? I don't know it doesn't fit and feels so off. No new content in QUITE some time. I beat LEA *currently last dungeon in MANIBUS scenario back at the launch of it wht 3 years ago? Still nothing new since then. Pros: Character customization. Pretty cosmetics *for me at least* Lot's of different building ITEMS Plenty of weapons to choose from, none are inherently bad *though the p90 and tec9 will always outshine the rest* Generally helpful community, though with the release to console I have noticed ALOT more toxicity *Sorry to say please keep console players off PC servers... IDK why but they are so hostile for no reason* If you care about the story, don't play this game. If you care about big dmg numbers, play it :)
Just cannot recommend it. New player, few days in and hit a cap on what I can earn for upgrades. When does it reset? 40 days from now. All about channeling me into profitable play cycles I guess. Can't have the peasants having fun without paying can we? Also, nearly all online info about how the game works is out of date. Overall highly frustrating.
This game has an incentive to post reviews and it has an autogenerate review button that auto populates the review with a random comment based on the thumbs up or down. "Initially, I found the menus somewhat disorienting and cluttered." "The season reset feels a bit unfair as it makes you lose so much progress." or "I've had a blast with this free game. It's generous and has no pay-to-win nonsense." I wonder how many reviews of this game are AI generated. It's kinda wild the game itself has a feature to pad the reviews in this way. The negative review is for the predatory loot box mechanics and automated reviews. The base building and gunplay is ok i guess.
