Dude, this game is beautiful. Like, that's all I can really say. 35 hours in, you still don't even know exactly what's going on and then it hits you right in the heart (pun totally intended). I genuinely wish I could go back and experience it for the first time again. And the visuals and art itself is another facet that drew me in-it's so pretty. AND THE SOUNDTRACK??? Omg, it's so good. I'm glad my friend made me play this. If you're someone that enjoys a good mystery and story rich game, I think you'll love OMORI :) However, I will say, that the pacing is a bit weird. It's like a beautiful story with wonderful characters, amazing art and music, and fantastic writing all wrapped up into a mid jrpg that's also kind of glitchy (for me on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ laptop at least). It honestly would have benefitted more from just being a fun visual novel or point and click. That aside, if you can deal with that, however, this game is actually an unforgettable experience

This is truly one of the BEST games I’ve ever played. It leaves this empty feeling and really makes you think about life. If you are looking forward to playing this, do it with as little spoilers as you can. I unfortunately didn’t get that liberty to play it with complete unknowing but it is just sooo much better that way. The game is so bright and the art is just magnificent and I need more. I got it back in 2024-ish after getting recommended by a friend who then spoiled it but nonetheless i played it and it was truly the best experience ever. The game leaves you wanting and needing more. Its unfinished and it feels empty at the end but not in a way that makes the game bad infact that makes the game so much better because YOU can imagine what happens. The game is so loved and cared for the writing is absolutely perfect and after playing it on several different platforms several times through I still find new things. I mean even my last play through i stumbled upon soo many new things and thats what makes this game so amazing and so just perfect. After playing it over and over again it leaves me wanting more so i played it again. The flashbacks, the heart breaks, sweetheart, their all perfect. I just finished the hikkomori route for the 4th time and found a whole new place within the game and ive never found because its so detailed. The game is simply perfect and it needs to be experienced at least once by everyone mentally prepared and stable enough because for this game that matters deeply. As the warnings say this game has depictions of depression but it expresses it in a such a beautiful way. Spoilers. Ive lost a friend before and this game is just so good at expressing how grief really is different for everyone. I was definitely Kel when it happened and immediately connected with him in the game because of that. But all of them how they all grieve is so accurate and so relatable because grief is never a straight line its complicated and this game says that almost flawlessly. I love this game because in my case, i would have never done what sunny did and hid away BUT he did! And you cant rewind and he has to live with it…or don't. But either way you can only go forward so losing four years he can never get back but he can make the best of it now and making that choice is so amazing. And if you don't, you see what that results in as well. The game is just so well made and I can't wait to play it again. All in all, crazy long review, but this game is totally worth it and needs to be more widely known.
