hours of fun game is kind of cpu heavy
Naja.

They say, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. But if every chapter of said book consist entirely of one copy and pasted rock asset, you really don't need to read it. Bonus points if writer takes its test map and shovels it as "Arena Mode"
Is your life free of frustration? Have you had enough of the words calm and relaxing? Do you hate not having anything to scream at? Boy do I have the game for you. This is way more of a puzzle game than an offroad game. You use the physics of a mostly ballistic vehicle to solve short puzzles, which often amounts to 5-15 second runs once you figure out what to do. In many of the levels, it boils down to how well you lined up the vehicle and how much speed you carried. There are a few stages where rock crawling skill is utilized, but the caveat here is that when it comes to simulating rock crawling the game is way too arcade feeling. It's like they were plugging in values for traction, mass, torque, and damping but used comical amounts of each. Basically, the driving version of human fall flat. Driving feels more like you're vectoring thrust in an origami truck with bouncy balls for tires in a low gravity environment. You have open differentials, which means every time you need traction you don't have it...yet a car length worth of 45deg boulder and all four tires contacting is enough traction to launch your vehicle into near earth orbit if you use full throttle. The bounciness of these vehicles is ridiculous, especially the Jeep. Shocks are completely absent from the physics model. Get the Jeep square in the middle of some logs, stop completely, and it'll eventually bounce its own way off the logs. In some of the microgravity levels, this bouncing is the primary antagonist to completion. Gameplay is less about skill and more about how many times you can try something before you get fed up and rage quit. A bit like basketball or pong trick shot videos that took hundreds of takes before they finally got one right. You launch your vehicle with tiny variations of point of aim and speed enough times, and eventually you'll make contact with the flag and go to the next level. You might make it on the first try, you might never be able to do it again, and then you might spend a few hours trying to get the little totem too. The totems are bonus rewards that give you different paint schemes and tires or other little upgrades, sometimes new vehicles...but you have to collect those AND finish the level for them to count. Some levels are easy to finish but insanely frustrating to finish with a totem. Some levels, the totem is easy to get but finishing the level takes so many attempts that you're too frustrated to bother spending the extra five seconds to back up and get it. Don't expect to finish levels with an undamaged vehicle, or even a remotely salvageable vehicle. It's just a means to an end. Launch that puppy and make it splat on the flag if you have to. A side note....I've seen other reviews about the game crashing on a particular level with a pile of logs. I have a higher end computer and that level will slow frame rate down to one frame every three seconds the second I touch that pile of logs. Try not to touch the logs and you should be okay. Buy it for $5. Maybe buy it for $10 if this kind of game is your jam. Don't buy it for $20 regardless, it's not worth it at that price point.
non posso accelerare, non posso frenare. però posso fare tutto il resto... con un controller xbox 360 pienamente supportato. gli sviluppatori non offrono soluzioni a chi ha lo stesso problema. 0/10

А ♥♥♥♥ так дорого ♥♥♥♥♥?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I really saw the potential of this game... Unfortunatly it failed on too many levels. Positives: + The whole idea of a offroad trial game on small rock islands with a tropical theme + Some of the levels are fun and nice to play, and give a good vibe + a lot of levels + ok graphics Negatives: - It feels like driving a bouncy ball on ballon tires in really low gravity - bad grip - bad physics (feels more like on the moon than on earth) - on/off controls, nothing in between, which makes it very hard to play on some levels - the camera angels are not great - the upgrades you need to complete some levels, you get in the end - some levels are horrible to complete, and frustrating as h.... - no diff locks, low level gear, 2wd/4wd change and so on - the car falls over way to easy, and its not realistic at all - bugs that make the car completely stuck when it shouldnt have happend - the game sometimes freezes and you're thrown out of it The game feels more like an early access than a finished product. It could have been fantastic and funny to play, and sometimes it is. But too often its just frustrating and grinding trying to do the same levels over and over again because of bad physics. I finished all levels in 8 hours. But if the game was fixed, it should have taken half the time. Im glad I got through it, but Im not going to play it ever again. I really hope you can swim, because you're gonna spend alot of time in the sea. Total Score: 4/10 PS. If someone wants to fix this, here is my advise: - make the cars heavier with more grip - fix the physics to be more like on earth - make at least a diff lock function - fix the bugs
Bought this game at 75% off and I am still disappointed. The physics is not that good. And in a game that relies on physics, its important to get at least that part right. Graphics are ok, nothing to brag about, yet it still gets horrible lag on a RTX 2080. Level 16 was especially bad with logs flying around making this a 5 fps game at times. But the worst thing about this game is that no matter if I start it with or WITHOUT VR it still set the sound output to my Oculus Rift S and starts Steam VR and the Oculus software. Found no way to start it without VR if you have a Oculus Rift S connected to your pc. Disappointed. Don't buy it.
