Meh. Way too dialogue heavy for my liking compared to previous entries. For every minute of combat there's 20 of dialogue.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3/day in the week to Jul 30 → 4.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I had a ton fun playing this game. A lot of my time actually went to theory team building which I had fun. Pacing of the game is good, but it can get bad if you over level to level requirement. It makes everything too easy and it's not fun fighting bosses and finishing fights in less than 3 turns. I would suggest crafting the totem that makes you not gain EXP once you unlock your town building. Main protagonist is a mute except during battle and maybe the last boss battle where he/she talks for 1 sentence. It would have made the story better if your character actually talks instead of other characters talking for you. Choices in the game don't matter, I don't even know why they added the option to choose when it does nothing. I wish choices matter and has consequences. Combat is very fun and there are a lot of equipment varieties. Overall a great game to play!
Rating: 10/10 — A breathtaking return to Orsterra OCTOPATH TRAVELER delivers everything fans of the series hoped for and more. It’s a stunning blend of artistry, storytelling, and classic RPG charm that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. From the moment the journey begins, the game pulls you into a world rich with atmosphere, emotion, and beautifully crafted detail. The HD‑2D art style is nothing short of mesmerizing. Every environment—forests, towns, ruins, and sweeping landscapes—feels alive with texture and warmth. The painterly backgrounds paired with crisp pixel characters create a visual identity that stands out in today’s RPG landscape. The story is a standout achievement. Restoration, retribution, and the mystery of the divine rings weave together into an epic narrative that feels grand yet deeply personal. Each character’s journey adds meaningful layers to the overarching tale, and the writing is consistently engaging. Combat is another highlight. The break/boost system remains one of the most satisfying turn‑based mechanics in modern RPGs, rewarding strategy, experimentation, and clever planning. Boss battles are thrilling, challenging, and beautifully designed. The soundtrack deserves special praise. Sweeping orchestral themes, emotional character motifs, and energetic battle tracks elevate every moment. It’s one of those scores you’ll find yourself listening to long after you’ve closed the game. With “Very Positive” reviews across the board, it’s clear players agree: OCTOPATH TRAVELER is a triumph. It’s a love letter to classic RPGs wrapped in a modern masterpiece of art, music, and storytelling. If you enjoy rich narratives, strategic combat, and gorgeous world‑building, this entry in the series is an absolute must‑play.
I spent 3 hours in the demo and just under 2 with the full game. Happy I can return it. The writing started out weak, and got worse as the villains introduced themselves. For example, Herminia, the fabulously wealthy one, quickly establishes how comically evil she is by killing some of her slaves. In her next scene, she's alone among her hoard of treasures, saying, "My gold, my diamonds, you are my only friends". The story sells her evilness so hard that any sympathetic angle here falls flat. It's just contrived, wooden, one-note nonsense. I liked the HD-2D art style more than I thought I would. It's charming. The battle mechanics were inoffensive and typical of the genre. The story was so grating though, I'd rather just play FF: Tactics or Baldur's Gate 3 again to cleanse my palate.
Overall the weakest octopath traveler game. The boost and break system is still great in this game but the difficulty falls off a cliff once you pass roughly a third through the game. You can easily hit the 99,999 damage cap by level 30 with little effort, leading most bosses to die in a few turns in the mid to late game. The biggest difference from octopath traveler 2 is the front and back row system, which is not integrated into the combat system especially well; most of the mechanics do not build off or use it in interesting ways, leading to it only making combat easier than the first two games. The story is hit or miss, with some interesting characters and story beats but many others being more cliche and predictable. They lack cohesion considering the game has more of an overarching narrative when compared to the first two. This leads to my biggest criticism in that this game did not need to be an octoapth game specifically; it does not particularly focus on 8 different protagonists completing their own stories. Each of your companions are side characters which goes against the unique appeal of the octopath games. Having 8 narratives made the world feel larger and allows for the player to choose what stories they find the most interesting. However, 0 follows the story of a 'chosen' one protagonist and doesn't delve deeply into its themes. Considering the longer run time and weaker story, it can often feel like a slog to get through. 6.5/10
