About
Nuclear Option is a combat flight game set on a dynamic and realistic battlefield of the near future. Use an array of advanced weapons to change the course of battles as you intercept bombers, duel fighters, fly under the radar, or unleash the fury of nuclear weapons on enemy formations.
Each aircraft comes with an immersive cockpit featuring a situational awareness HUD, identifying nearby targets and threats. Aircraft can be flown with various controllers or with a mouse-controlled "virtual joystick", requiring no special hardware.
Experience realistic flight dynamics, with stalls, spins and g-force effects fully implemented, as each aircraft is composed of up to 50 individually simulated physics parts . A highly detailed damage model means that the condition of each part affects the way your aircraft flies.
Build your own missions using the included mission editor, and then fly your mission solo or with friends in PVP or PVE multiplayer combat.

Nuclear Option hits that sweet spot, where the simming is technical enough to be interesting, whilst also feeling like a fun game. I say this as someone with hundreds of hours on DCS, where it can take weeks just to learn the basic systems of one aircraft. NO definitely has a learning curve, but once you have one, you've got a good idea how they all work. Far more impressive, though, is the dynamic campaign you get from it. Sure, you can do individual missions just like DCS, but the real fun happens on bigger missions where the NPCs are moving and fighting across an entire map. You get to work on the individual tactics (if I approach from here I can get close before launching at a ground target and dodging enemy missiles) to map-wide strategy (if I can carry an APC to that airfield over there, we'll have a stronger position to push from). And it's not just dogfights or mud-moving, but logistics as well. Keeping ships and ground troops armed and fueled, dropping ground vehicles or carrying infantry to secure locations is just as important as the pew pew boom boom stuff. And how they've managed to squeeze this all into less than 3gb, I have no idea. Oh, and there are countless mods available, if that's your thing, too. And, whilst it's Early Access right now, I've seen maybe one bug in my 50 hours of playing, and even that was very minor. If you like flight combat sims, get it.

TL;DR Version of what im going to say - A fun Single Player or multiplayer time Nuclear Option (or NO for short) is a great plane Sim that isnt too much of a plane sim to keep people who want to try plane sims away. The game play is a mix of plane sims games with Ace combat logic with some RTS style games. The game's multiplayer is server hosted which in this day and age is nice. Not to mention while its main set of game modes are already fun there is a fairly sized and growing workshop missions lists via Steam. With that said NO's best feature in my opinion is its ease of modding. After installing NOMM (which no joke takes probably 2 minutes max) installing mods is as easy as some people might have found it in Fallout, skyrim or any other highly moddable games. Allowing for even for flexible gameplay. I mean Hell.... you can get a mod that lets you be an AC-130 or another that lets you be a Truck Driver (MC-260 and Kar mod). Oh and I should mention, Mods work in multiplayer. One more thing I will mention about this game is that Despite the dev team being small (I think only 4 people but i might be wrong) which does cause updates to come slow, it's clear they care about the game. Fair warning NO does have a learning curve and some people might not like the first person view but 1 you can probably get use to it and 2 Mods again are easy to instal so a 3rd person mod or a mod that makes game play simpler are possible to find.
Very fun alone or with friends

its alright man
Solid game, some of the missions are fun, others are annoying to play. The game is fairly easy to learn. Not a ton of missions. Some missions are annoying to play, esp ones with radar missile getting shot at you every 2 seconds. Solid game, needs more missions, planes, and a better rework on the radar locking missiles.
very gooooooooooooooooooooood
fun
