About
NIGHTWIRE is a dark, tactile incremental about building a data-theft operation from a single machine in a dark room — and about the person you become while doing it.
You wire up a living rig: harvesters that pull stolen data, processors that refine it, and fences that sell it. You route it all by hand on a grid, watch the light flow down the wires, and turn a trickle of dirty bytes into an empire.
Prices on the underground Exchange move on their own. Hold your loot for a spike, dump it before a crash, and read the market like a trader who can't afford to be caught. Every sale leaves a trail.
Every byte you move raises your Trace. Pack your rig too tight and it cooks; buy VPNs, Tor relays and Heat Sinks and you can bleed it off — but you can never buy your way out entirely. Push too hard and the raids come.
Climb 20 ranks of the netrunner underworld, unlocking new machines, tools and a branching ARPG-style skill tree.
Run crew and jobs, take down rival organizations, and manage the risk of every score.
When the heat gets unbearable, take a New Identity — burn everything, keep your mastery, and come back stronger.
Every identity you burn, the system keeps. One of them didn't stop running.
A third of the way in, a ghost of a self you discarded reaches into your wire — and it knows exactly how you think, because it is you, sharpened. It hunts you across five escalating confrontations, from cryptic messages to full multi-stage boss battles fought on your own rig: survive its assault, out-muscle it in a will-clash, crack its core, and land the finishing blow — while it taunts, adapts, and fights back.
Beat it and the story ends four different ways. Then burn another identity, and find out what the net makes of you next.
A rig that feels alive — hand-wired node graphs, flowing data, a breathing circuit-board world.
A living market you have to read, not just click.
Trace vs. throughput — a real spatial puzzle where greed and safety pull against each other.
A full narrative boss arc with real-time combat, set-piece minigames, and four endings.
Prestige that re-arms the story — the cycle never truly ends.
No fluff — a self-contained game that respects your time and your attention.
