For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. Okay, I enjoyed this one. So here's the truth about.... It does a bait and switch, but its like a REVERSE bait and switch. Because you think you're getting garbo and then BOOM you get something real nice. if you had stopped me half way through, I would say I hated it. It starts out kinda cool, very creative pixel art, but boring. Running around LA, ugh. And, what turned me off even more, these random one-liners that are pretty crappy and pointlessly against conservatives and God. So yeah I'm getting sick of seeing those random inserts into games and that usually kills it for me. LUCKILY, I decided to keep playing because a friend told that half way through the game entirely changes..... And that friend was 100% correct. You go from this BORING cynical B.S. around L.A. - gag me - to suddenly you are in this small haunted town and that as awesome. The tone and theme of the game ENTIRELY changed. Though you still get slapped in the face with one or two more anti-God anti-conservative rando-vomits, ugh. But anyway, if you keep going, then you end up in a THIRD brand new place that is absolutely fantastic, like soft-core Silent Hill. So THAT made it worth it. Maybe we'll see more games like this WITHOUT that silly anti-God, anti-conservative stuff and without the big boring start. Then it can be enjoyable the ENTIRE time.

The gripping story had me so hooked that even the occasionally lengthy descriptions and dialogues didn't bother me. Played it on the Steam Deck without any issues.
A horror point and click adventure that starts off slow, picking up in the last third of the game in a way that really impressed me. Play as Alan Goldberg, a screenwriter stuck in a rut of writing B-grade horror films, when all he wants is another shot at writing an award winning drama. Follow Alan around 1980s Hollywood as he gets wrapped up in the search for the scariest horror film of all time, a lost film said to contain the essence of fear itself. Start off slow, learning about the film, setting things up in Hollywood for a local film production, before launching into the investigation for the film itself in full. Investigate a suicide, leading to a town locals refuse to enter, and is seemingly abandoned by all but a few remaining townspeople after years of supernatural occurrences. Gameplay is your standard point and click fare, collecting a variety of objects to pick up to rub together or on the environment to remove any obstacles or persons barring your progress. Left click interacts, right click looks, giving you information and flavour text on various things in the current environment. Taxis will be your main method of getting around, collecting more and more addresses to visit as you progress through the game, able to freely hop between them to look around and investigate. Visually, the game has some pretty great pixel art, being a rather standard style I've been seeing in these kind of pixel art point and clicks, but pulling it off very well; environments, character portraits, and background objects all looking superb for the vibe they are aiming for. I was a bit surprised at how good the music ended up being, having some excellent synthwave tunes that I really enjoyed. Considering this is the first point and click from this developer, it is really flippin' good; it starts off slow, but when it kicks off in the later third of the game, it really kicks off. I would absolutely recommend this one to lovers of point and click horror games. Great story. Not often I play a game to the end because I eagerly want to see how it all plays out. Puzzles are not too difficult to figure out, which is good because you don't get stuck and the story keeps going. Loved the music and the vibes throughout. One big thing missing is "Only click" to advance dialogue. The best option is text speed "Slow" which gives you plenty of time to read everything but you can't step away because it will keep advancing. And there is no way to open the menu or pause the game while dialogue is going on. And I sorely wish there was a "Go back to previous dialogue" function because a few times I miss clicked and skipped dialogue, so I had to reload and replay some sections to get to read it. For Linux users: I had to use Proton 7 to get it running.
Noped out as soon as I got the farm. Too ominous for me
Decent P&C adventure, I played this straight after their later "The Dark Rites of Arkham". As others mention, the first act isn't very engaging, but the long second and short third acts make up for it. The writing's a bit clumsy in places but overall not bad at all for a first release.
