Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 29 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The empire is dying. Survival is victory. Seize control of an ailing empire, clinging to echoes of its former glory. Unlike traditional grand strategy games of expansion and conquest, Fall of an Empire challenges you to try to survive in an empire on the brink of collapse. Face invading barbarian hordes, manage internal revolts, and engage in relentless political intrigue.
Your rule will not last forever. How long can you defy history and halt its decline?
Play as one of many characters in an empire in decline.
Perhaps you have seized power in a violent coup, crowning yourself Emperor of a crumbling realm.
Perhaps you rule a province and you will make your way to the top as the world collapses around you.
Millions await your orders, but your legions are stretched thin, your coffers are empty, and your provinces are rife with unrest.
It is up to you to defy history and survive through iron will and brilliant strategy.
Manage a living world filled with unique, simulated characters - senators, generals, governors, and spies. Each character has their own evolving traits, personal ambitions, and loyalties.
Exploit rivalries, uncover conspiracies, and forge fragile alliances to keep your throne. Reward your loyalists with power or eliminate threats in cold blood.
Exercise dominion over hundreds of settlements and millions of subjects across a sprawling, dynamic map. Build fortifications, manage resources and oversee simulated convoy supply lines on the map itself, allowing you to orchestrate raids and bolster your coffers. Watch cities visibly grow… or burn.
Navigate changing seasons that test your logistics, from famine-inducing winters to bountiful harvests in the springs.

Dynamic storylines take the whole world into account. When your capital burns, your court knows. When your loyal general grows old and bitter, his betrayal will make sense. No two playthroughs tell the same story.
Engage in a unique hybrid battle system combining real-time strategy with timed turn-based decision-making.
Direct your armies across multiple fronts simultaneously, then zoom into key battles to make the tactical calls that turn the tide.

I would like to recommend this game, but there are too many problems. 1 armies can get stuck on the edge of the map. 2 As soon as you end 1 war another starts making it not a good idea to end wars with other nations. 3 the only way to end a war with a rebellion is total victory, meaning it's not worth negotiating till you already won. 4 multiple wars are hard to manage as you have to constantly manage all armies individually 5 There is no way I can find to merge armies. 6 Cities hate it when the governor is of a different religion, but there is no way to filter by religion making it a tedious process to find one of the same religion if you have one. Instead of managing a falling empire I'm instead trying to constantly manage my armies to keep as many alive as possible to win wars because losing one war means i lose the whole game.
I can see why some people say it's an unfinished game. From what I experienced: 1. Not much quality of life mechanics implemented. (I mean you should be able to expect Paradox-lite) 2. Army templates are confusing, it's almost better to manage individual army. No way to switch between templates like Hoi4. 3. It seems nothing can improve the economy, even though you prioritize propping up economic buildings everywhere. 4. Diplomatic relations with other factions seem to vanish without pop-up or warning, even though you can instantly make a new deal with them. 5. Frequent rebel spawns without intervals. 6. Children often died by "unknown". Even illnesses has no way to deal with them. Outbreaks could spawn like every week in game time. 7. Unnecessarily difficult "doomstacks" of other nations without proper economy or population base backing them up. In conclusion, this game seems to be in beta stage. Incomplete system, lack of clarity (actions don't lead to expected results), not really a game of skill.

It is impressive just how buggy this game is now, even just starting the campaign starts unlocking random achievements. There's interesting systems, and I do hope it improves to a playable state, but for now its not even possible to finish the tutorial because navies get stuck.
needs more work. give it time. i wish i listened to the others that have said the same thing. *developer is very communicative. big update to correct many issues due 7/14.
Fun game, messed around as the Western Rebels to get my bearings and get a taste of the different mechanics. There is a tutorial which sets the game up well and has a cool story but it does leave/gloss over a bit so I'd recommend doing a rough playthough as a vassal just to see how things click after youve gotten your bearings from the tutorial. A lot of work went into the game and you can really get caught up in your own story. If you enjoy CK or EU give this a look, its Real Time as well which is uncommon for an indie grand strategy but a very welcome feature. It could use a bit more polish and it could be clearer, I feel the feedback is poor in some areas and can be hard to see if what you did actually went ahead, its also easy to miss notifications of things that happen, though there is a very good ledger; I feel the dev could make more use of the notification pips in the top left and more sound effects for different things happening. Also clicking armies around can be a bit inaccurate but nothing too major being honest. There are some bugs and issues but nothing huge in my playtime so far, mainly little things that will most likely be patched out in time. It is a fun game managing a decaying empire but thankfully the dev has recently made it posssible to play as one of the vassals and try to survive or take over as top guy, he also plans on adding barbarian playables in soon as well which I'm looking forward to. Overall its a cool game and one I had my eye on since before release but held out until it was a bit more polished, the last update was that for me and I'm glad I gave it the time :)
Is this game perfect not at all, that being said the developer is very responsive and works hard to fix issues, add and expand features. I 100% understand if you the reader of this review are hesitant and want to wait which is valid, but this is quite a unique game and deserves support.
Game is fun but I have the feeling that the AI Events need some work. My first Event was imprisoning myself for corruption but I wasnt imprisoned. I just lost some stats that were additional to the event. Everytime when other factions make counteroffers I cant see the offer. I just dont know where to find it or it just isnt there. Also the pathfinding of Legions are a little weird and I had some stuck at a Island and had to delete them because they were stuck between the land and the City so they could not take the ship. Wars and Revolutions shouldnt break out because there is no war.Like If there is no war you did good if it is and you didnt initiate it its bad play of yourself. It doesnt feel relieving when you win a war and it directly starts another because its scripted like that Its still fun and I m gonna play some more but it need polish
If you are a true roman, support it.
Не, слишком ИИслопово, да и интерфейс выглядит как-то не очень, а про то какие требования для зданий тебе никто не скажет.
This game was a good try to mimic the CK2/3 formula. I have fun playing it outside of the bugs and issues I face. One of the annoying bugs I had is that I accidentally combined a legion with another one and they bugged out, not really combining and one of them completely disappeared, never to 'separate' again. I can only recommend this on the fact that the EFFORT was put in, and despite the issues, I can tell the developers really loved this idea and concept. If you don't want to deal with AI that tend to get caught on things (like fleets not wanting to dock) or other small issues, this is a rough project worth trying out at least, especially if you want to support them and their development.
