Just not a lot of substance to it, with the game largely just being drag and drop. Having some tactile parts of the game to make it feel good is part of the genre and I didn't get it from what is here.

Even though I'm giving a bad review, I don't consider Night Rolls a generally bad game. It just didn't do it for me. Let me explain what was good and not so good. + The nighttime with the rain and the lighting in the store has a great atmosphere and feels very cozy + The customers are very diverse and the customization of the own character is nice + The Apps on the PC are a nice gimmick - The shift itself feels pretty bland. You basically just press E at the register. I expected some kind of a Minigame, scan items or something. - There is no mid- or longterm goal. You just unlock items to sell and sushi recipes and that happens really fast. You can seee that very early in the game. - No customization of the store layout. So if you're into a very cozy experience, Night Rolls might still be the game for you. If you want to make your own decisions, slowly upgrade the store and expand it, you might be underwhelmed.
The game is really nice, I hope we see new content in the future. It would be great to have hiring staff, delivering orders by motorcycle, new foods, new faces. Love
Night Rolls Cozy Store is seriously awesome! The dev is actually listening to the community and throwing fixes at us left and right! 🙌 Seeing feedback turn into real updates this quickly is just too damn cool. ❤️ Huge respect to the dev — keep it coming! 🎮✨
Press "E" Simulator.
Okay, I really really really like this game. I love simulation games, I love shop games, I love cooking games and this is a very cute mixture of the 3. There is very little of a tutorial, but that shouldn't be an issue as the controls are very simple and pop up in front of you as you approach things to interact with. You can prep sushi which has a 2 day shelf life in bulk to make your life easier and thank ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ god the cashier interaction is just 'E' and it completes the checkout. You don't have to count change or anything like that, which may be a minus for some but a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ plus for someone who is stoned out of their gourd watching youtube videos on the side while I play games. The customers are really cute and managed to make me grab a few screenshots due to them just being funny (a group of like 7 customers all dressed as sharks all walked in together.) Highly recommend this game, it is a steal for the price and the developer is super active in the discussions.
This game is chill and fun. I love that it always rain outside. sets the vibe and the mood.
I wanted to wait until I made it to at least 30 days until I made this review... I couldn't... Overall at the current state this game is in, it is... okay. It is a very simple cozy game with not much late game. A lot of the gameplay loop is simple. Make sushi before open. Change prices to match trending item of the day (which sushi can't be for some reason) and lower price of sushi about to expire. Open the store. Press E at the register over and over. Leave to clean. Press E at the register over and over. Fill a robot order. Press E at the register over and over. Get mad that the stocks on the register dropped for the 7th day in a row. Press E at the register over and over. Check reddit to get zero info about if stocks are going to change. Press E at the register over and over. Close the shop. I made it to Day 20. Overall the game is cozy and simple. Its just a bit... too simple. The biggest issue I have is with the store products vs shelf space. You have a billion shelfs and not enough items to really fill everything unless you want to have 100 shrimp bags and hand soap just to make the place look full. On the other end, you get a billion different sushi meals to make with very little space for them. I got to the point where I can only put out 2 of some sushi dishes out per night. You can't make more during the night because it will just expire. HOW TO FIX I would also love to hire staff to maybe make the sushi and put it away in different spots or even run the register. Maybe even have a place to put "50% OFF SUSHI" that is about to expire in a day. More product is needed to actually fill the store. Stock info and news on the reddit type site so you can see what is trending would be nice. Upgrades to maybe make sushi last longer would be nice or to get more robot orders. I will prob wait a few months to see how this game updates before picking it up again. I honestly would wait until the game is on sale for $3-4 dollars in the current state it is in.
