Nevermind ushers you into dark and surreal worlds within the minds of trauma patients. When played with supported biofeedback technology, Nevermind picks up on indications of fear—lashing out if you allow your feelings of anxiety to get the better of you.

Don't get a cheap heart monitoring mouse for this game bc it won't work properly and the game will perpetually think you're in stress mode and you will have a bad time.
I played through this game with my friends about 6 years ago, and to this day, something will suddenly remind one of us of this game and we'll reminisce about it. Such an inventive premise. Each section keeps you guessing as to what it's all about up until the very last moment, and when it's revealed, everything that came before makes sense in retrospect. I actually came to the store page just now to check to see if any other games had been developed by Flying Mollusk. It seems that the lead creator is now at another company, but part of me hopes that some day we might get some sort of sequel or spiritual successor.

The concept of being a psychological professional that uses highly complex technology to enter the minds of traumatized patients is fascinating, naturally, but Nevermind ultimately fails to execute this idea due to some technical flaws and game design flaws. Throughout some of my playthroughs, I have experienced visual stuttering that is haphazard irrespective of my tuning of the in-game graphics controls. Another error is the lack of height restraints, meaning that players may find themselves suddenly at an elephantine height or floating way above the ground with the only fixes being restarting the level or finding a neuromapping board. Design-wise, it is quite an eccentric decision to make players operate at midget height, making small props and photographic collectibles seem bigger for no good reason. This becomes especially nonsensical when it applies to the level, with simple panel doors looking like wooden medieval gates and tables that the player can just barely see the surface of. In order for players to earn all of the video game's achievements, they are required to replay levels with no discernible difference other than random objects now revealing hidden memories and the regular true and false memories. Essentially, this product is best avoided by contemporary audiences as its development team is missing in action and its redeeming qualities are heavily overshadowed by its unforgivable technical and design errors.
disclaimer: i don't have a biofeedback device so i just played it as a regular game. i thought this was going to be a horror game. spoiler alert, whilst it certainly is creepy at times, it's not a horror. it's a thoughtful exploration of PTSD. recommended for people with PTSD (it's more metaphorical than triggering, in my opinion), and recommended for people without, because i think the trauma exploration is very well done.
good
Its a cool and intriguing game. I don't like jump scares but this game does not have to rely on any to get you into it with a lasting feeling of your patient's dread. It tries to deep dive into how different mental conditions feel like, its eye opening. I got this game for free when I bought my PC and its one of the best games I have played in the horror genre.
hits
