Played this game for 97 min and the game has bugged out 3 times already forcing me to lose progress and/or restart a mission. You will occasionally just jump somewhere the game doesn't want you to be and you are frozen in place. Or maybe a door opens but you run away to go explore a different part of the map, when you come back the door is open but you can't go through it bc there is an invisible wall there as if the door was still closed. Very frustrating.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Aesthetics are nailed. Player controls are fluid and very dynamic in all dimensions. Weapons are cool. Graphics are cool. Art is cool. Level design is okay. Regarding the story - nothing makes sense. The plot doesn't make sense, it is meaningless to follow it. Who killed who and why and how is our protagonist even related. Dialogues are out of place completely. All of them. Of all the characters. They make zero sense and it's hard to follow them. Also poor enemy variety and plot isn't synchronized with them any how. It's the same thin thugs, buff thugs, women psyker thugs, ogryns, dogs and combat servitors. In every location. A WH40K theme park.
It's not terrible, and there's certainly an audience for these styles of games, but I'm not that audience. If you like classic Doom crossed with the last few years of Call of Duty or Titanfall, set in the 40k universe, you might enjoy this one. If you aren't vibing with all of those things at the same time, it's not very fun. It's stable, but kind of hard to look at. It plays smoothly, but caters to very niche interests in regards to gameplay. It kind of just does the bare minimum, but it does it all well enough that some will enjoy it; just not me.
OK first let me spit this out.. I am a huge Warhammer 40K Fan. However you don't have to be one to enjoy this game. Honestly I have 10 hours in the game currently and not only does it run like a dream, but it's fun as hell. I am seriously having a blast. Pros: -Excellent art and stage design, along with the Weapons we all know and love (if your a Warhammer 40K Fan). -You can clearly see the devs loved making this game. There are alot of details that they put in here for the fans. -Excellent, fast paced combat. I am actually loving this more than Doom Eternal, as a first person shooter. -Awesome gore effects! They researched what kind of damage a Bolter does, and they made it happen in game. - Best grappling hook mechanics I have ever seen in a game. -Challenging Enemies ( Even on easy mode), the game does not hold your hand. -Unlimited Side missions/Bounties, and challenge, with plenty of pay days and constant loot. -Nice gory take down effects, and close up shots of the violence (Like Doom 2016/Eternal) Cons: -Repetitive Dialog tracks in the the head quarters area from NPC's. -Repetitive Dialog Tracks from the Enemy NPC's, they all say the same things over and over repeatedly. Being voiced is nice, but not when you hear "He's Here, there he is, Get em, Whatever it takes" 50 times in a mission. Luckily voices can be turned off. I got this on sale when I bought this.. But it sat in my back log for like 2.5 years... So kinda sad I didn't play it sooner. Absolutely loving the game so far. Thanks to the Dev Team!
Was worth the close to seven bucks I paid. Seems there's a bad reception of this game, I'm into Warhammer 40K lore and adjacent Necromunda. I'm no expert pertaining to the subjects but I think the stuff is cool enough for video games and enjoy listening about the lore from hardcore 40K junkies on youtube. I feel it's a solid shooter without too too much jank, which is there but not bad at all. My hud went missing final mission. It feels a lot like a Rage game, specifically Rage 2 which is excellent. It's sort of like a Rage 2 spin off into the 40K universe. Considering the type of hive planet Necromunda is I got quite a bit of Mad Max and Rage series vibes which is solid, just it's not an open world and no access to vehicles. All things considered if bought on sale I think what's offered here is great. Again solid shooter and plenty of fun. Great escape!
A fun AA boomer shooter. The level design is fantastic and the gunplay is decent enough. It's hectic, and the enemies can get samey after a few hours. If you don't mind some jank, and a bit of a nothing plot, it can be fun few a dozen hours or so. Get it on sale if you're in the mood for a shooter set in a 40k hive city.
This game shows great strength in:
- gameplay loop - weapons sandbox - ability upgrades - weapons and companion customisation - art-direction - graphics - level design
This game fails in:
- storytelling - unpolished animations - dysfunctional UI - confusing menu functionality and purpose
Art Direction
I can't praise the art direction enough. The mix of mechanical and mystical elements in the ultra detailed environments were a consent visual feast. The fantastic art direction is so focused and passionately designed that it partly accomplishes world-building purely with aesthetics. Really outstanding stuff. Overall, it has an iconic, gritty, mechanical Warhammer-esque aesthetic that makes excellent use of colour. I'm a sucker for cauldrons with blue / green flames and this game has plenty. My only real gripe here is the lack of visually distinct enemy factions. They all look the same throughout the entire game. The hub world is very cool looking and features different vendors for weapons, bionics, weapon upgrades with awesome character designs like the Rogue Doc and the evil weapon customisation machine which calls you fleshworm lol
Level Design
Level design encourages exploration by means of hidden currency, power ups and loot chests. Some chests are hidden quite well but have an audio cue so players know the general location which I appreciated a lot. Simply fun and engaging to navigate, especially with the aforementioned phenomenal art style. While the levels are incredible to behold, the game doesn't describe or expand by means of dialogue or set-pieces. Would have benefited from the character making comments on particular architecture and symbols when approached to help flesh out the world and establish lore. This is sort of remedied in the HUB world where NPC's are holding discussions but it's lazily implemented and forgettable.
Additional Positives
- you can customize your pet dog with crazy armour! This is genuinely awesome - the gun sounds and recoil are impactful and feel totally bad A55. Chunky weapon designs feel super gritty - sound effects are fantastic, even smaller things like collecting items and menu sounds and satisfying - this game has respectable gore effects with torsos blowing right off with a shotty at point blank.
Sucky aspects
If your decision to play is easily swayed by storytelling, this game is not for you. 90% of the cut-scenes are generic first person conversations with no interesting camera movement or angles. Story is told mainly through exposition dumps. Story setup for final boss SUCKKKKKKS. Nothing but a massive exposition dump in the final minute and we're expected to buy into it. So lazy and rushed. The melee executions look choppy and under-cooked. They happen too quick and lack impact. Clearly didn't pay attention to Doom 2016's execution master class. Loading into levels is done through a menu (which admittedly is a setpiece in itself) but kills world building potential. You should be travelling to your destination which introduces the area and unique environments. The menu system is lazy and disjointed. Even NPC's who supposedly travel with you say "let's go" and this disappear before your very eyes as you have to walk to the menu station to start the mission. Menu can be buggy. The back button or ESC don't work so you have to click with mouse. Cheap feeling The early chapters and chapter 12 really highlight how budge disproportionately ignored the middle chapters (70% of the game). Chapter 12 especially was full of set piece moments and interesting lighting effects. Makes me wonder how incredible the whole game could have looked with a bigger budget. Chapter 7 features black sewer-like creatures that rush you. They jarringly never appear again (which I'm grateful for because they suck to fight). Their inclusion was hamfisted and in retrospect a shallow checkbox ticking moment. That was a lot of wasted development time that could have been used elsewhere like bolstering the middle chapters with setpieces. Massive frame drops in the last level. The whole game was steady 60 then literally halves to 30. Lazy. I feel like rating this 8.5/10 but the storytelling is such a let down that it can't be greater than 7/10. That being said. Highly recommended. Worth the asking price ($65 AUD in March 2025)
Whoever designed the damage values in this game probably watches his wife ♥♥♥♥ other men. Seriously, I shoot a dude with a Bolter in the face, He tanks it. But my dog chews on his ankle, and he ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ explodes? Wish this would be remade, Because the weapon selection, and customization is awesome. the world is great, as is the character design. Animations and voice acting are terrible.
