MULLET MADJACK

Mullet MadJack is fast, violent, and gloriously simple: move fast, break doors, shoot faster, drink soda, shoot (even) faster: kill everything. The adrenaline-fueled mechanics make every encounter feel like a tiny bite-sized panic attack soaked in neon (in the best possible way), with the constant pressure of peregrine-paced-progression forcing the whole experience to move at a breakneck pace. That said, the game utilizes a number of accessibility options and a fantastic tutorial to ease players unfamiliar with the mechanics into the experience. Aesthetically, this thing is an absolute feast of retro-vaporwave excess. Neon colors, chunky pixelated visuals, CRT vibes, cyberpunk excess, and a crunchy style that feels like someone fed 80s/90s anime, arcade shooters, and a fever dream into a malfunctioning VCR. And naturally, the hyper-violence elevates the experience to new heights. The narrative is relatively simple, but that's part of the charm. Mullet Madjack is less interested in telling some sprawling, self-important story and more interested in delivering a nostalgic excuse to shoot increasingly ridiculous things while surrounded by an absurdly colorful dystopian future. Mullet MadJack is basically nostalgia-inducing, soda-stained, romp combines all of the best components from boomer shooters, roguelikes, and score attacks into an experience that delivers what it promises.
