No Mercy, Just Mud and Blood
This is not a game for the faint of heart. It’s raw, unfair, and brutally honest—just like war itself.
Step forward, Commander, and see if you have what it takes to endure the Mud and Blood.

Mud and Blood was, for the most part, created in an unlikely place: an outpost somewhere between Kandahar and Panjway, Afghanistan. Initially developed as a flash game by urb in between missions on a beat-up laptop, it became a way to decompress from the chaos. Ironically, a game about brutal, unforgiving war was itself forged in the heart of a conflict. What began as a personal project has since evolved into a cult classic, beloved by a fiercely loyal community for over 16 years.
At its core, Mud and Blood embraces a unique philosophy: challenge, not comfort. The gameplay is punishingly difficult, but it respects your tactical sense and cognitive ability. It doesn’t drip-feed you success to keep you engaged. Every decision matters, every mistake is costly, and every victory is hard-earned. This is a game that trusts its players to make tough calls on the fly, think critically, and persevere through chaos and loss.
In Mud and Blood, war is not heroic. It’s messy, unpredictable, and brutal. Yet amidst the carnage, there’s a raw beauty in the stories that emerge—a narrative forged by the player, much like the Dwarf Fortress of combat. Your experience becomes your own war story: a tale of triumph against an unrelenting enemy and the quiet pride of knowing you gave it everything you had.
Crafted with love, a touch of PTSD, and a deep respect for its community, Mud and Blood is a humble tribute to those who dare to face the impossible.

This game kept me unbored in middle school, this will always be installed in my library to my dying days.
The game Crashes so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much I love this game but crashes happen nearly every 30 minutes
Game needs an identity less around being BS to the player and more around being, idk, fun? The "balance" sucks. I love the flash version, tho I mainly played the hacked versions and watched the chaos, i did play the OG and enjoy it. This versions classic doesnt hold up, takes forever to gain points and punishes you for spending half the time. More often than not I find myself tabbing out and checking back in 5 mins, nothing has changed and I have 7 points to spend. We desperately need some form of sandbox, or more options on how we start rather than springfields and random chance, or face the wrath of the most boring grind just to unlock a more fun start. Items despawn too fast, Medics barely do their job, and any troop death suddenly fuses their gear to their bodies? why cant I pick back up the MG that made me wait 7 waves to buy, not even a chance to drop, in this RNG filled game there isnt any player friendly RNG besides cover, some enemies are able to stealth right infront of your troops. The game is also missing basic QOL like seeing range of medics, officers, seeing the names of enemy types, seeing camnet range, icons for right click items, and seeing your own troops line of sight, and a fast forward buttom please!
First and foremost, I love Mud and Blood, I spent countless hours when I was younger playing Mud and Blood 2. I was never any good at it. Hated the stupidity of a lot ways I'd lose troops... but that was the beauty of it. This game is different but offers so much more, special modes, a campaign, ribbons and skills to make it improve your squad beyond gear... it's great. Now a petty complaint, but cannot even really blame the developers. It's entirely my fault... One of the things I did when I was younger, I loved using the "hacked" version. Unlimited points to buy everything I wanted, and build my perfect setup. I never really went overkill, 2 tanks maybe, a perfect squad of 8. I always lagged heavily, my generic HP laptop could not handle it for whatever reason... I thought back to it, and went "I should be able to run this easily now" well... same issue as a decade before. Even just calling in a single stuart tank and building a trench made the game lag unbearably. Not sure why this occurs, if the game is just that outdated, or if the game detects that I shouldn't have been able to buy said unit, upgrade, whatever... but it is disappointing to me at least. All in all, the games great, especially with all the additions made. It's incredibly fun and unforgiving. I would like an option to just let me go all out and build a super team without the lag, but I guess that will just have to remain a dream. I would encourage a trainer regardless, just for the inclusion of the increasing the game's speed. There are long moments where nothing of importance occurs, you can't advance or need to reposition or anything, so just speed up the game until something exciting does happen.
Un grande classico del flash gaming
Can play this for hours on end, super fun game.
