Loved it. Was amazing. It just doesn't start anymore, and no solution works.

The game is generally a very good management game, no question about it. However, it’s not a good race simulation, which makes it simply too frustrating. In practically every race, you encounter situations like this: your car brakes behind the car in front on a straight, even though it could have easily completed the overtaking manoeuvre. Another time, you'd think someone had fired up a rocket engine while overtaking five competitors in a single corner. Watching this, you just grab your head and think: What's the point? It's fun that the regulations are re-rolled for each save, but that doesn't help much when the racing strategy can hardly be influenced. The aforementioned inconsistent behaviour during the race and the fact that you get hardly any information about tyre compounds and the track make it impossible to think about a strategy in advance. The best strategy for every race is to take one pit stop less than everyone else. That’s just not fun or appealing gameplay in any way. Maybe it’s because the game is old. I’ve tried mods to fix it, but I guess the simulation is just fundamentally flawed at its core. In any case, I’ll stay with F1 Manager 24, which isn't flawless either, but the much more immersive races make it simply the better alternative in 2025.
A great game that is already almost 10 years old. The playability, the lay out, the mixture of sim and arcade it is all very cleverly done and it feels really solid. The mods that are available are usually also great to try. So all in all I would rate this game 9,5 out of 10. There should be a follow up game to update it to the year 2025, because it is a great game and it would sell..
Over all this could be an interesting game, but unfortunately it seems the developers made sure this wasn't the case. I'll point out few things that are blocking for this app to be way better than it is. I'm confident I won't be able to name them all. The concept So the concept of the game is to manage. Or so does the title says. +95% of the time I'm spending time on fine tuning the car. That's it. And that's practically the whole concept of the game, which in my opinion it shouldn't be. If you're a manager, means you manage and not doing the mechanical stuff. You fine tuning the car before practice, in practice, before qualification, during the qualification and before the race. Everything else is just about senseless clicking (I'm going to say a few words about that later on). Tuning a car may be interesting at the beginning, but later on it becomes so dull because no matter what you do, it seems it doesn't mean much. Or the least the game is not telling you if there is any impact at all. But what bothers me the most is that is all about random things that happens, as you as a manager, have no control over it. For example car tuning. Stars need to align that you get 99% accurate tuning. Nobody tells you what exactly needs to be done or to what direction you need to go. The drivers do say what bothers them but at the end is pure luck that you guess the right setting. I don't think managers do that. The other example is during the qualification where you need to guess the right setting between tire temp and break temp. Even when you set this on auto you can realise that even AI has no idea what to do. I'm pretty confident managers don't do that either. Anyway this car tuning concept of an app is dull, boring and is killing the experience. Endless clicking So, you click right) But there are so many, many steps in the game where you need to click and click and you get nowhere. For example you have a button that says Continue to qualification. And then you click and then you need to click again, on a button that says enter qualification. Why is that? And then after that, you have to click at least 3 or 4 times more to actually enter qualification. So after that you get a screen when you again fine tune the car (wtf?!), choose the tire etc. before you actually enter the qualification. AND you cannot proceed without doing that. Why is that? Now this is just one part of it. This endless clicking is throughout the whole game and at some point you stop and you just click and you say to yourself wtf. Exactly. Another example..why do I need to go through clicking with the qualification and results of other tournament tiers? I get that any information may be useful, but why not to make it in such a way that I go and look for it IF I'm interested. Why do I need endless clicking, that is irrelevant, just for the game going forward? Economy I don't know who designed this game, but economy is so awful that just leaves you there wondering why do I bother? I'm talking about rewards and sponsors. Sponsors gives very awful rewards for a very long duration of a contract. More than 90% of the time I play without sponsors, because I don't see any benefit having them around. And what is most sad, you cannot refuse sponsor offers. You need to wait I don't know how many races so that sponsor withdraws. If I'm a manager I want to have the ability to tell someone to ♥♥♥♥♥ off. The game promotes 5 star sponsors only if you build helipad. I have a helipad, my marketability is 100 (team as well as drivers), I'm three time champion (driver 2x, construction team 1x), I'm in my 5th season and I got only one 5 star sponsor offer which I didn't took because it sucks so much I felt offended. I could go on on, there are so many other things I could talk about, but I won't. If you're looking to be a manager of a race team, this game is not for you. You will have very little to do with management. You will have very, very little possibilities to manage, because the game will do that for you (that's where the clicking comes in). But if you are into mechanical tuning and stuff, this game is for you. The title motorsport "manager" is deceiving. Overall this game could had a potential, but in my humble opinion this is just another cheap garbage.
Merits: ▪ Engaging concept for fans of motorsports ▪ Charming visuals that bring the motorsport atmosphere to life ▪ Good performance, runs very well Flaws: ▪ Gameplay is slow and often feels unrewarding ▪ Repetitive progression with limited meaningful choices ▪ The anti-aliasing is bad ▪ It feels like the DLCs were developed as part of the game, and were chopped up for extra profit Verdict: At first glance, Motorsport Manager seems like a deep and rewarding simulation, but the more you play, the more its limitations become apparent. While the visuals are charming and captures the vibe of motorsport and the respective cities, the gameplay itself is slow, tedious, and offers little meaningful reward for your efforts. I am not saying it is a bad game, but you have to be a certain type of person to enjoy this, and you must be a motorsports fanatic. Rating: ★★☆☆☆ - Average
This is still to this day, the best manager for racing. Offers 3 different levels for Formula racing, 2 levels for GT, and 2 more for Endurance (of which is multi-class). While there seems to be a lack of variance for the game (drivers will always be the same stats, etc) many mods exist to create a unique experience and as far as I have found, mods do not break achievements. It is as challenging as you wish to make it, with an AI scaler of -10 to +10 do indicate how well they execute on strategy. Overall, while I can go on about this game, it is just a fantastic buy, even 10 years after release.
How have I not written a review about what might just be my favourite management sim (suck it FM)! MM puts the F1 Manager series to shame and is infinitely modable. Now that PlaySport have gotten the rights back, I really, really, really, really, really hope we may get a new game with more ways to customise your team and added complexity for the race experience. More crazy rules to vote on too please!
