Motorsport Manager is truly a good manager game that lives up to its name. One of the best games I've bought in recent years! You should have some basic knowledge of the respective sport; then a lot of things become clear. Of course, things don't go perfectly at the beginning. Even small successes, like not being among the last for the first time, lift the spirits. Do I prioritize rapid car development at the beginning, or do I save money for next year's car? It's about promotions and relegations. But if you finish last at the end of the year, it will not only cost you your place in the league, but possibly also the position of team manager. It's a beautiful, complex game. Basically, you can adjust and optimize everything. Pit strategy in the race: You have to keep an eye on your tires, fuel consumption, and the weather. Driving aggressively leads to high wear. Driving defensively saves fuel. -Formula 1 - Expand headquarters and development building - Research/Training - Produce parts - Manage sponsors and funds - Driver management with 2 main drivers + reserve driver, including different moods and sensitivities - Hire staff, scouting -Politics - Influencing the rules or installing banned parts + potentially getting caught - Satisfying the boss and drivers by achieving the season goals - Developing race and pit strategy - with DLC - Creating your own teams and vehicle designs - GT series - Endurance races --------- - Workshop support Of course, there are also some criticisms. Graphically, the game is still appealing for its time. For me, it's one of the best manager games of recent years. (I bought it in 2017.) It's now 2026. I also have F1 Manager 2024/2022 etc. I still highly recommend it; anyone who loves manager games will enjoy it.

Better than F1 Manager for sure, with mods it's basically F1 Manager, although it is a bit arcadey and not as hardcore as I'd like but it satisfies the itch twofold - HUGE shame Playsport haven't made a sequel for PC it's compulsory at this point. Must buy for GT/WEC fans I don't think there is a competitor on the market for these series.
10 years on, this is still the gold standard for racing management simulation games. The fictional league system lets you take your F3 team to the top, and built in workshop access lets you tweak and customise if you wanted something more... official looking. Even the knock-off tracks and driver names add to the experience. It feels like something akin to, but uniquely different from, the annual release cycles of top flight F1 games. I really hope we see a new version in the near future.

I initially gave this a negative review but I have since retracted that and changed my mind. To begin with, my drivers were doing well in practice and qualifying but absolutely bombing come race day, and I couldn't understand it. I got so frustrated I uninstalled the game and considered buying F1 Manager 24 but I decided to give it another shot... I took over "Velan" in the top tier (basically F1) and really payed attention. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to get my girl over the line in 10th place for a single point. I was honestly so proud of her I nearly cried - and in my defence this was my 5th career started, all of which failed miserably. I kept pausing the game and trying to calculate how long the tires would "really" last, and which ones I could use and when. And how long I could tell her to push for to make the fuel last to the end. I used a hard at start/medium/soft strategy so she got faster as the race went on with quicker tires and less fuel. We were expected to finish 17th and 18th but we finished 10th and 13th. It was glorious mediocrity. And I am so proud of the team. I get it now, Great game. Update - Having played now for a few seasons I do have a couple of gripes. You spend all season upgrading your car parts to get them to maximum reliability, performance up to great and epic - you are competitive. Then the new season starts and you have no choice but to build an entirely new chassis, you get to keep the top 2 parts from each category, but these are reset back to "average" and low reliability. Why? If they were epic last week why are they suddenly garbage and I have to start again? So frustrating. What's more annoying is that because of this quality reset, the first half of the season is spent making far more pit stops than anyone else to constantly fix low condition parts. The rest of the field don't seem to do it. It's only when you get to the mid point that you have reliability improved a considerable level once more and usually only pit for tires. Speaking of tires... The estimated laps is nowhere near possible. If you run on neutral or conserve, your drivers will moan that not attacking is hurting tire wear, but if you increase to push or, God forbid, attack - tires will absolutely drain and you'll have to pit long before you expected. I find myself using the hardest compounds in all races because anything less seems pointless. I'd love to have different options/strategies but after two and a half seasons the only thing that truly works is using the hardest compound available. Media questions after each race have no point. I've reloaded over and over and you can never get a positive response. You either annoy the chairman, the driver(s), or hurt team marketability. I appreciate that the press are snakes, but some people are great at media handling and can almost always illicit a positive reaction. One MAJOR annoyance - the game does not warn you about pit crew contracts expiring. You just have to keep checking them intermittently. Might not sound like a big deal but I've just lost a perfectly curated crew and had them all replaced by generic garbage and it looks like my 4-season career is over. Probably the last time I'll play the game now as well since it is hard enough to balance everything. Shame. So much promise gone.
Better than any of the F1 Manager games. Community still updates the game through mods for each new season.
