This game is adorable, and surprisingly a little challenging due to the supernatural elements to this game where certain shops are available to be open for a certain amount of time so you should plan a routine for each day in order to maximize productivity. I feel like some of the criticisms towards how certain characters look and are represented by the art style shouldn't let the art dictate how fun this game really can be. Nothing tops off Stardew Valley but I'm enjoying life as a vampire farmer. Probably a small thing but some of the consumables cost a lot for little to no stamina regain so I'd be careful about what you buy in order to replenish.
I originally play tested this back in 2023 and waited a lifetime for it to be released, just like many others. The wait was beyond worth it. I have a lot of issues with other farm sims from the color pallet to the content, the art styles and just overall playstyle - those aren't bad games, I just realized those were not made for me and what I prefer. Having to mod other games to even it makes it palatable to my eyes just became more of a chore. This though? Checks off all the boxes. The art style, the color pallet, the storyline, the mechanics, romancing NPCs, shops, animals etc. - all of it. I'm attempting to not write War and Peace part 666 right now. lol I can go on and on for hours about this game. The controls feel great on M/KB and it feels very fluid. With that said, I have just under 30 hours and I can also recognize it's faults. 1 - Price - I'm not saying it isn't worth it, I'm a 'dollar per hour' person and 30 bucks for 30 hours and I’m only in Fall on Year one? That’s not too bad, especially with how much is still left. With that said, I can also see how the price is daunting compared to other farming sims (IE: Stardew - meanwhile you have games like Animal Crossing which is more expensive than this grant it does have online Multiplayer so obviously take that into consideration. Do I think it's worth it? yes. But obviously everyone’s budgets and wallets are different. 2 - It did have some bugs on release, yes, what new game doesn't? The team is very active in the discord and tries to fix them as they are notified. Is it a fault to have bugs? sure. But the team is great to communicate with so if you do run into something weird, just pop into their discord and plenty of ppl will be willing to help. 3 - Quality of Life things missing - I believe there is a review already on here with a lot of great things listed, and I know their discord has a very open suggestion channel. There are plenty of things I'd love them to add: trying on clothes, carrying some animals with your mouth as a cat etc. etc. I do think with how receptive the team has been - these would be great QoL add-ons later in game during patch updates. All in all - I do think it's a great game - give it a shot maybe when it goes on sale if the price is daunting. Do not let the demo fool you, there is a vast town here and not just a farm. The story is great; the spells and powers you get are beyond fun - and it's just an all-around extremely unique farming sim for those who live in the darker/spoopier side of the spectrum. <3

If you love cozy games and spooky season, you'll definitely enjoy Moonlight Peaks. The game certainly has a few quirks, but the art style is absolutely adorable and the storyline is incredibly wholesome. There's great character diversity/representation and it's a just a feel-good experience overall. I've seen a lot of complaints about the price point, but I felt it was worth every penny.
Чудовищные фризы во время сбора урожая и лаги при крупных огородах наводят на мысль что это такой хитрый "ранний билд", который мы тестируем за фулл оверпрайс!
So far, I'm loving it. I've played a lot like it. Stardew Valley, Little Known Galaxy, Sun Haven, Fae Farm, Coral Island, Fields of Mistria, Roots of Pacha...basically all of the Harvest Moon clones and outside of Stardew, I think this is my favorite one. Now, I'm only a few hours in since it's a new game, so maybe it's just the "new game" excitement and the fact that I, like many other have been waiting a long while for it, but I think this is one that I'll stick with for a while. Out of all of the other games I listed, none of them really clicked. This one feels different. I am playing on a Steam Deck, docked with a mouse and keyboard. It works flawlessly. I assume it'll work handheld too though.
Absolute Empfehlung!
I absolutely love this game! It's already up there with my favourite farming life sims alongside Stardew Valley, Rune Factory, Coral Island, and Fields of Mistria. Moonlight Peaks blends elements from those games really well while also giving me Animal Crossing and Cozy Caravan vibes. It feels familiar in the best way, while still having its own unique identity. I'm really enjoying the story so far, especially the drama between the residents. The pacing feels just right—I never feel rushed, but I'm always making meaningful progress. It strikes a great balance between letting you take things slowly while constantly giving you more to discover, unlock, and work towards. My only small gripe so far is the controller support. I haven't been able to remap buttons on either my Steam Deck or my 8BitDo controller to create shortcuts for things like the map or quest log, which would make navigating much more convenient. I also haven't come across any fence gates yet. After 35 hours of playtime, I'd expected to have unlocked them by now, as they're really useful for keeping animals enclosed on the farm. They're minor issues, but I imagine they're things many farming sim fans will notice. Other than that, I'm having a fantastic time and would highly recommend Moonlight Peaks. The story is engaging, the supernatural theme and cast of characters are charming, and there's so much to do beyond the usual farming activities. It's an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys cozy farming and life sims.
