One of the best games I've ever experienced, cause that's what this is. An experience. Utterly beautiful artistic design (buy the artbook if you haven't). The game is hard but fair, I only died to like two bosses and it was entirely a skill issue on my end. It's like if American McGee made a souls game.
Me encanta el combate, las animaciones son increibles, la musica me hizo un primogenito, los escenarios provocaron la paz mundial y el lore es mejor que la historia de la humanidad real.

Amazing Shooter-Esque hack and slash, playing through never felt like a chore and the levels felt open yet linear enough to not get lost. gameplay aside what an AMAZING worldbuild i mean the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ style in this game is absurd and the creativity into all of the characters and designs is amazing i almost wish it wasnt a low poly game bc holy hell this game could look amazing as ♥♥♥♥ if it wasnt even still amazing game worth the buy
Played and refunded this a while ago and came back to see if there were any updates, lol nope. Another game where I was lured in by the amazing art direction and completely smashed in the face by the gameplay. It's a DOOM engine game so that's probably enough info for most with experience but it falls into the category of doing absolutely nothing new to the genre and being less fun and engaging than those before it. I couldn't stand how slow and simple the combat was. Unfortunate that it's never been updated as it desperately need some bug fixing and fine tuning. Oh well.
Mortha is one of those games that actually captures that alien feeling, and even jank, of old obscure ps2 games - especially old Fromsoft titles like Evergrace or Eternal Ring. The world, art, and designs are all very alien and fun - visually the game is fantastic. The OST is great, it really captures the vibe and weirdness of Kota Hoshino very well, but the soundscape (Firing your weapons, enemy sounds, etc) overall is very satisfying. The story is "Whatever", it's enough to keep you interested but not anything you haven't really seen before. "New young hero against old jaded hero, who is the hero? Who is the villain?" yadda yadda. The gameplay is a mixed bag. The dodge is kinda bad (The dodge jump combo is also finnicky and not fun), most of the weapons are terrible unless upgraded, you can be firing your weapon and see your bullets literally dissipate in the air before hitting your target, bosses have attacks that are quite literally impossible to dodge, some bosses are piss easy and some are retardedly hard, and there were too many times where I felt like I just didn't have enough ammo to get the job done - so, it's all over the place. But all of that said I was compelled to see the next new weird thing around the corner. I got ending D and I'm satisfied with what I got. I think Mohrta is cool and I'd rec it to someone looking for that authentic weirdness that came out of the ps2 era, BUT know that you're coming for the weirdness not genuinely good gameplay AND get it on sale tbh.
there is hot weirld goblins and a bangin soundtrack - buy it
