Mirror's Edge is a fun, challenging first-person platform game. Sadly, this game was released in a time period where bad ports were the norm. Luckily, the community made a mod called: Mirror's Edge Tweaks. It unlocks higher FPS, higher resolutions, and more extensive graphic settings. It makes the game a lot better and smoother. The game looks really gorgeous for a game from 2009 with the mod. The soundtrack is amazing.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I played this game for the first time in 2009. I was absolutely impressed back then and my mind was blown away by the game 17 years later (As of May 2026) and this feeling has become even stronger and made me realize that there is a chance that there won't be another game like this. But I'm still holding some hope for the future in case someone picks up the idea. Mirror's Edge was released for the first time in late 2008 with a PC release that arrived few months later. my friend did gift me a copy of the game and wanted to know what my thoughts will be. Since then I got hooked on and it became one of my all time favorites by far Despite the game coming out in 2008 and from a completely different era of graphics and tech. I would argue that the game feels more modern than a lot of other far newer games and still can compete visually. Yes, the UE3 engine that shipped with it is an ancient relic by now but the entire art style of the game and everything around it has held up fantastically. It's also one of those games that did take up an advantage out of NVIDIA's PhysX which does improve the physics of the game regarding animations like when the glass breaks and so on Gameplay is another major aspect of the game which also held up really well and also the main reason of why Mirror's Edge feels so satisfying to play. the whole focus of the game is movement and the ability to resolve the puzzle being presented to you. Trial and Error is a big part of the core gameplay which might seem quite rough for those playing the game for the first time but the more you play it. the more fluid the game becomes which improves the experience massively as in a sense, you feel like play as Faith herself. If it's your first time playing the game then I would strongly recommend going through multiple runs and treat it as a rouge-like in a sense The combat is where I'm mixed at. It's a relatively simple system as it meant to be blend in with the core gameplay systems but it also feels half baked due to how clunky it is. Almost as the developers themselves knew about it as there is an achievement (not on Steam) that tells you can beat the game without killing anyone as Faith and be "peaceful" in a sense This is especially showing when you might have to fight with guards that are heavily armored and do have an assualt rifle or something like a machine gun when you are pretty much powerless against itb unless you figure out a way to use the environment around to get you to take them off. I'm aware that it's a challenge which is an interesting way to add depth to the game but not when the combat system doesn't feel too great. Story was never the main focus of Mirror's Edge but it has attempted and its not bad actually. if anything, Looking at it from the perspective of where we went in our daily live then I understand the appeal but overall. the story is quite half baked and omits details that could be used for building the story of the characters, their goals and desires. Mirror's Edge does the bare minimum in that regard and I believe it could be expended on The game also featured stylized cutscenes that were pre-rendered and those attempted to add some personal touch to the game but honestly.. those should have been rendered in real time as the quality of what the game has shipped with weren't too great overall and deserved more Overall, despite the flaws of the game in terms of story-telling and also combat. everything feels just great and including the amazing soundtrack by Solar Fields that outright does heavy lifting for the feelings that Mirror's Edge is providing. I would say it's 9/10.
Mirror’s Edge was one of those games i first found in a magazin. Just reading about it and seeing the pictures made me fall in love with it. As a kid i used to run around my neighbourhood doing parkour, so this game felt perfect for me. When i finally played it on my Xbox 360 i had so much fun. Even tho it wasn’t open world and had a linear story, i kept replaying it over and over again. The movement just felt so good and diffrent from other games. Playing it again now i still had a great time. I always imagined this kind of world as the future vibrant colours mixed with a clean, beautifull architectural style. And Faith will always be one of my favourite video game charachters. I also miss when AAA companys tried new ideas like this instead of just making what they know will sell. You can really feel the passion the developers put into this game. Even the small art book and concept designs show how much love went into creating this world. This game will always mean alot to me.
20$ for a game from 2008/9? ♥♥♥♥ no, there's a one-click downloads out there, which, honestly, I should've got myself rather than give my money to the piece of ♥♥♥♥ corpo like EA, even if it was discount
There is a great game with fantastic movement and fun level design here that's unfortunately buried beneath a lot of frustrating pace breakers that really hold the game back and make it tough to recommend despite its strengths. This game is at its best when you're quickly leaping between rooftops or scaling large indoor playgrounds trying to discern the way forward. During those moments when everything is clicking together and you're able to just settle into the flow of the immensely satisfying movement system, this game offers an experience not many other games do. Even in moments where I got stuck trying to figure out the way forward, it was still fun to experiment with the toolbox of moves at my disposal to find what I needed to do to progress. The issue with this game lies between those sections, namely the game's unfortunately abundant combat arenas which bring the pacing to a grinding halt as you slowly take out enough cops to allow you to safely progress without being shredded to pieces. The combat is just so basic that it gets stale before the end of the 2nd chapter. 2-punch combo, low kick, disarm... That's it as far as hand to hand combat goes. The gunplay doesn't help as the majority of weapons slow you down to a crawl as you slowly shuffle around these areas to clear them out. There are enemies that parkour around and chase you down with stun guns later in the game, which is a fun change of pace, but the vast majority of enemies will just being taking shots at you from a distance while you desperately run at them hoping that this time they don't mow you down before you can even get within 10 feet of them. None of this would be an issue if the game's insistence that "running away from combat is the right move, you're faster than them!" was actually a consistent option, but so many of these sections, especially later on, end with an obstacle that forces you to slow down and gives the cops time to turn you into swiss cheese, forcing you to engage with the combat. I'd definitely recommend this game to big fans of movement platformers as this game offers a unique take on the genre that's worth experiencing, but to anyone else... I can't really say I recommend it.
very good game, i played thru 90% of it without knowing u could pick up guns from the ground e.e
One of the best platformers of all time. Soundtrack is perfect. Art style and atmosphere is unmatched by almost any other game. Gameplay is successful at building it's levels around the simple core game mechanics.
