Fun and challenging to play, and I can't get over the art and music. Love this game!
I deeply enjoyed playing through MIO. It's visually stunning and the music is used to great effect. This is one of the few times I was happily invested in a metroidvania's story, despite the lack of many character moments to get me invested in individuals. Learning more about the place I was exploring and then finding absolutely incredible environments that tell a new part of that story was such a brilliant and well-crafted experience. I played the Demo initially, and the slow and floaty controls left me a bit underwhelmed. I think that initial friction just fell away as I got used to it and unlocked more movement. And despite being "floaty", most of the bosses felt like really tight and well done experiences. My primary gripe is actually the lack of bosses later in the game. There are still several bosses that all felt really special, but seemingly the game wanted me to unlock all of my abilities, and then feed me a bunch of platforming gauntlets near the end. While I did enjoy these too (bar my stubbornness resulting in the occasional runback and replaying of difficult sections), they felt back-loaded. I want to give special praise to the boss design. Super interesting and distinct, and it felt like I died a reasonable amount of times to all of them - not something I can say about my experience with some metroidvanias. And of course, visually a treat every time. Overall I really recommend it. Definitely a proud addition to my 100%ed collection!

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If you're into metroidvanias then this is worth checking out. It has a nice art style, interesting story line, good music, and some decent boss fights. There are a couple of insane boss fights too which may drive you nearly insane.
This is a fantastic Metroidvania. If I had to give it a score out of 10, I'd go with a 9. First off, the art direction is an absolute feast for the eyes — so many scenes could be screenshotted and used as wallpapers, and I love the minimalist UI and map aesthetics. Visually, it’s a rare gem. As for the Metroidvania side itself, the exploration is top-notch. The map is packed with all kinds of collectibles, which is a real treat for completionists. Combat isn’t very difficult either; the protagonist feels quite powerful and can handle fights with ease. However, I do have to criticize the platforming sections. I’m a platformer player myself, but even I found a fair amount of frustration in this game’s jumping segments. Overall, it’s a game worth picking up — provided you’re a Metroidvania enthusiast and comfortable with platforming. That way, you won’t end up strongly disliking it.
One of the best metroidvanias and altogether games I've played. Great plot and setting, amazing artwork and soundtrack, challenging and interesting platform puzzles and cool bosses, that make you change tactics and excperiment with modifiers. IMHO, MIO is way more beautiful visually, touching emotionally and entertaining gameplaywise than Ori, for example. I'm surprised this game isn't more popular and I basically found it on the incident. Deserves way more attention and praise.
Absolutely adore the inspirations this game takes as well as the music. Gameplay feels balanced and even though sections can feel very much like a souls-like experience, I am all for it.
MIO holds its hand close to its chest. Despite initially feeling like a fairly cookie-cutter Metroidvania, MIO eventually reveals that it has much more to offer, especially to those willing to explore. If you can bare the admittedly slow early hours of the game, there is something special here to uncover. I am sad to hear about the fate of the developers, but they should be proud of what they achieved with this game.
The story is immersive and takes you through a challenging journey with a ton of areas to discover including hidden ones. Incredibly clever design for some of the game elements but I won't spoil anything! Gameplay is a mix of fighting and parkour which can be efficiently combined to improve both. Overall not super difficult because you will be able to find your own playstyle as well as getting the chance to level up your skills before major encounters. Although there are some bonus encounters which I did not even beat yet so good luck with those. Runs well and I never really saw any bugs. Everything feels smooth to me.
Really cool Metroidvania, with a nice emphasis on the movement. Musics are great, environments are stunning. The story is pretty interesting, and not as nebulous as it can be in this type of game.
Très belle ambiance, beaux graphismes et gameplay sympa. Venant de Hollow Knight, j'apprécie fortement ce jeu.
