Very fun game with a good balance of combat and industrial focus with lots of possibillities for both. Slow skill floor and high skill ceiling with near perfect replayabillity, customization options and fire mod community. Can run on a Toaster on 100 fps.

TLDR: it's a step back from Factorio and has major problems around readability and accessible UI. it really doesn't make sense to recommend this game over Factorio. both are industry logistics managers with research and some wave based enemies. however, Factorio is just plain better in just about all key ways. it's tech tree is easier to parse, it's resources make at least some intuitive sense, building and logistic is both easier as well as more versatile. but most importantly, Factorio is much easier to read visually. in Mindustry, one of the four resources you interact with are greyish, roundish blobs. this make it nigh impossible to see what a conveyor carries without stopping it. it's just about impossible to parse if a conveyor has mixed resources. it also hurts that all many structures look really similar, while having completely different functions. conveyor routers are light gray arrows on dark grey blocks, but so are tunnels, regular conveyors, armored conveyors, and overflow routers. the game is also really bad about tutorializing research. it's fine if earlier missions give you only limited stuff to work with. it's really annoying if the game doesn't tell you that you were able to unlock a new grey block since two maps ago. and the build menu is IMHO simply hostile to use. there's no rhyme or reason to how things are ordered. some resource buildings are in one category, some in another. there's liquid related buildings that are in the refineries tab, there are refineries in the unit factory category, storage boxes for liquids are with the fluid logistics but solid storage boxes are specialty buildings in a category only with the main building?! then, as you research new tech, the icons in the build menu get reordered - which is doubly annoying because so many buildings are just grey square-ish blobs. also, why is there no text in the UI? why do I have to wait for the mouse-over text to appear to know which resource a building needs? cause they all look the same...I could on and on. overall, the game has a lot of design that really mostly works. and, while I appreciate the graphics on a purely aesthetic level, the game has major issues around readability. I can't even image trying to play this game with vision impairment.
If you enjoy factory building and tower defense you will ADORE this game, it's just the perfect blend of the two, seeing the defenses you meticulously planned and placed down mowing through enemies is a peak dopamine hit every time, the challenge of trying to balance retrieving resources and manufacturing things and building worthy defenses and supplying them with the right resources is addicting. Along with the fact you unlock cooler turrets and factory building pieces at just the right pace has you grinding to unlock the next awesome turret and the set of challenges it takes to use it effectively. I haven't even mentioned the units and RTS part of the game yet, my favourite levels are the ones where you need to take down enemy bases on the same map with units you have to manufacture with what little resources you have while the enemy actively sends units to do the same thing, you slowly work your way through the map destroying enemy defenses and claiming more land and resources to build more powerful units. Just, simply amazing. Play this game.
There is a lot to like here. I guess this is a decent replacement to Factorio if you are done with that one but want to do something similar. The UI seems a little hard for me to grasp but that's just me. I do understand why people would say this game is boring but every game is not going to please every one.
