Reviews
Cute, fun, and relaxing. Puzzle solutions are not obvious immediately. I quite like the design and the way it teaches mechanics to the player. I believe the target is someone who wants a quick, not too hard puzzle game, or someone that starts their journey in the puzzle genre. It is a bit too short to justify the full price, though. I haven't encountered any bugs or performance issues.

One novel mechanic is enough to make a solid game, as GMTK displays with this brief but delightful collection of puzzles. Explores the idea, doesn't overstay its welcome, and with any luck will inspire other designers to do something funky.
Short English-version below! Spiltid: Jeg gennemførte spillet på lige omkring 1½ time. ------------------- This is a very simple puzzle game. The puzzles are not super hard, but still entertaining. The price is rather steep for what you get, but on discount it is a good game. Time to finish: Took me 1½ hour to finish (100% achievements)
Super nice little puzzle game. The different characters and corresponding mechanics are introduced slowly and the puzzles require a decent amount of thought and some trial and error. There are some points where you have to try again and again but not to the point it becomes tedious. I had to take a couple of hints, one of which was very obvious once I'd seen it - have more patience!
Simple, yet sometimes more challenging than you'd expect. Mind Over Magnet is a simple and short puzzle game all about navigating levels by utilizing a simple jump and some specific magnet capabilities. The game, in both presentation, story, and challenge, feels like it's geared towards a younger audience. That doesn't mean it's not enjoyable for anyone of any age, but it's very cutesy and every level has a robust hint to help you out if you need some help, so it's very approachable. After completing the game, the thing that stood out the most is that it's very short. Almost every level feels more like it's introducing a new puzzle concept rather than expanding on existing concepts. This isn't a bad thing, and I prefer games to not over stay their welcome, but I do think that more could have been done with the mechanics on offer. On the bright side, almost every single challenge you need to overcome is handled very well, so when it clicks, you will be able to exocute it quickly, with is exactly what you want in a puzzle game. No long waits or having to fiddle with timing or positioning, just a straight forward solution that may require you to rethink your approach. There was ONE mechanic that I think was failed to be introduced in a manner in which the player will pick up on it, though it could very well be just a failure on my part. This one mechanic has to do with flippers.
These flippers are introduced as switches that change their condition when either the player or a magnet moves them. In the next level, you are meant to move a flipper with the character after placing the magnet on the ground, so that when you pass through the flipper, the magnet is launched as well. This wasn't something I realized could be done and the small window I think was meant to lead you to this conclusion wasn't really good enough for me. This was the one level I needed a hint for because I simply didn't see a way forward.
This hardly ruins the game, it's just one little hiccup in an otherwise extremely well done game. It doesn't take too long to complete this game, but you're likely to enjoy your whole time with it, so go ahead and give it a chance.
I think this is a rather cute game with just the right challenge level. Nothing is going to keep you super stumped, but it tickles your brain to see how the mechanics tie together into a solution. Now, it is a short game, likely only an 1.5-3 hours of gameplay, though you can replay the game with developer commentary on to get some insight into how levels were designed. I like having some small games I can knock out in a single sitting sometimes, so the short playtime wasn't a problem for me. You might want to consider getting it on sale. I liked the game, and I hope Mind Over Magnet gets expanded on in the future!
A fun time from start to finish. Quick, snappy, and full of moments that had me experiencing that "ah-ha!" moment that all good puzzles do. Easy recommend!
