Great game, a complete package that's fun to complete.

ive only played for 16 hours as of writing this review, but im confident when i say that this is my favorite game of all time. each weapon changes the playstyle a lot, there are secret bosses, an extremely cool movement system that allows you to dig underground and jump back out after a short time, an amazing healing system (after you get damaged, if you have any vials on you, a vial will heal more for each hit you get on an enemy without getting hit back), and the art in this game is amazing. you can tell a lot of love was poured into this, and IT SHOWS. its a pretty hard game. i wouldnt call it "extremely hard" or anything, but it doesnt pull any punches. the death system is also great: you start in your underground lab, with a spark and vials. if you die once, you lose a spark. if you die again without retrieving the lost spark, you lose all your bones (bones are in-game money and what you use to level up.) and come back to your last checkpoint, in your underground lab. and in the game, youre able to buy more sparks, to have more attempts. plus, you can turn some of your bones into bone gems, which means you wont lose them when you die. plus, with the addition of different cloaks that give you different effects and the ability to add modifiers to the game on new save files, replayability is high, and this should be a MUST-HAVE in the library of any steam gamer. -------------------------------------- quick edit: i did find some things i didnt like about this game. (beware for spoilers) before reaching the generator in coltrane peaks, there is a train conductor boss fight. the nearest checkpoint is pretty damn far, which makes the process of getting to the boss without dying, and with enough vials to even have a chance, massively unfun. plus, near the end-game, you have to backtrack multiple times to be able to proceed through the game. these instances are: 1) gather 10,000 bones to fix the train (took me a couple hours of grinding, which were pretty unfun). 2) you have to go back to every region in the game and find a mirror. in each mirror there is a switch you need to activate. so, you have to spend hours just roaming around over and over to find these damn mirrors, and it starts feeling like a chore after a while. both of these instances severely harm the pace of the game. aside from these complaints, this game earned the title of my favorite videogame of all time, and i hope it wins game of the year.

Dark Souls meets Link to the Past. Expect many fights.
MARAVILHOSO JOGO.
great game, nowhere near a difficult as people are making it out to be.
