Reviews
I don't recommend this game, since it will not launch for me.
There seems to be one correct build order at the start of the game, and if you don't follow it, or get unlucky resource spawns, you'll fall behind with no means to catch up.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Has some depth but also seems shallow. Diplomacy between nations needs more. Other nations just seem the same and lack some personality. The Mechanics are very good. If its on sale, I would recommend. Wait for it. Its not civ, but then even civ isn't civ anymore. I still like Endless Legend better than most of the other games coming out in the 4X realm. Humankind was awful, but prettier. Graphics are fine on this. Scout +10 movement is likely the best starting bonus. Lets you move 2 hexes on most turns and up to 4. Early game gets you goody huts and landmarks. Sadly DLC is expensive and from the looks of things doesn't do enough. But the game is solid as it stands even if they don't support it for much longer. It is fun and has high replayability with the era mechanic. I like choosing your type of society and the bonuses, it is different from civ and helps with replaying. Workshop is almost needed just for a few adjustments. You really need to play tall in this game. If you are planning on lots of cities, its not built for that unless you use your vassals well. The production chains make a lot of sense taking you from raw resources to improved goods, to finished products. Again I would recommend the game overall. I would rate it 7.5/10 maybe an 8 or higher if I ever get to the later ages. A few restarts after understanding the mechanics better. Humankind was a 6 for me.
Fun to build and manage empire
Millennia is a delightful strategy game that will feel instantly familiar to fans of Civilization. While Civ has taken some interesting directions in recent years, Millennia offers a fantastic alternative that breathes new life into the 4X genre. One of the game's strengths is its departure from the heavy emphasis on culture selection at the start of the game. Instead, Millennia lets you customize your playstyle more dynamically through a combination of National Spirits and Government forms. This approach gives you the flexibility to adapt your strategy and doesn't lock you into a specific playthrough based on your chosen civilization—no more being pigeonholed into a certain path because you picked England or Rome. While this shift in focus may make the individual nations feel a bit more faceless compared to Civilization, it more than makes up for it with near-endless replayability. The ability to tailor your civilization's strengths and weaknesses based on evolving conditions ensures no two playthroughs are quite the same. That said, Millennia isn't without its flaws. Diplomacy, in particular, could use some refinement, and the multiplayer and modding communities are still in their infancy. However, with two expansions already released and more on the horizon, the game shows a lot of promise for future growth. In summary, if you're looking for a fresh, engaging strategy experience with deep replayability, Millennia is an excellent pick—and an exciting new contender in the 4X genre.
Honestly not a great game. The plague is just annoying, does nothing to increase the fun and you are just chasing it burning exploration points first and then improvement points. The information about food needed, sanitation needed etc. is unclear. You see percentages but again no exact explanation. You have to go google everything. Personally Civ 6 is a lot better then this even to this day. Lots of good games. This is not one of them.
