About

A nomad wanders the far reaches of an overgrown megastructure, a world built for a forgotten purpose in which countless civilizations have lived entombed for ages.

It is a -very- short game - I wish it could have been longer. The level design is quite creative, even having some satisfying and unexpected loopbacks. It's usually quite clear where the game wants you to go. The game sometimes throws a few gotcha moments at you but you very quickly learn where and how to expect them. I think there could easily be a couple more levels in there which showcase the megastructure a bit more. The ones which are there feel quite terrestrial and only the final level really allows the game to stretch its legs, as it were. I wish we could have seen a little more like it. The inspiration behind the game is very clear and extremely direct, from the couple of logs you can read. It's the mother of all megastructure stories, and Metal Garden is a delightful interpretation. ---Light spoiler--- The ending has a very visible objecty with a misaligned texture, which is a bit sloppy. While the ending is interesting, it could have ended with a bit more of a 'bang'- Let us at least see what the bottom looks like instead of giving a text screen! The text would work better as an overlaid subtitle as you reach the final destination, letting the player explore the vista a bit and letting the screen fade to black as the last sentence is completed.
Great concept, incredibly immersive. A shame it had to be so short.
Lots of metal, not much gardening. Interesting world. Some shooty shooty bang bang. Why can't we all just get along? Also if you don't like heights this will be a horror game for you as it is for me.
Gra dawała trochę atmosfery Halo (w otwartych lokacjach) i jeszcze bardziej Half-Life'a (w zamkniętych lokacjach, w których z reguły musimy rozwiązać proste łamigłówki).

Honestly, it's alright. It's a decent 3 hours of atmosphere. But you probably won't ever play it again after that. There are about 3 enemy types and they are clearly pulled from an asset store. The story gets interesting at the very end, but then it's over. Maybe buy it on sale to play on a rainy afternoon.
