Who knew burning your house down would lead to such adventure

This game certainly was like a breath of fresh air when it comes to the interactive fiction genre. IMO this game at its heart is like Undertale - both silly and serious with some disturbing undertones, first and foremost a story but a one you can actually influence through gameplay. Even though mechanics are simple, it's fun interacting with the game world through the limited means you have and see how it reacts and shapes the events that follow. Yeah, this is a game and it respects player's agency! And the short length of the game is its strength in this regard - no arduous backtracking. The art, animations, cast, writing and story are great! Even though I have a few nitpicks about the latter, I'd still easily recommend this game to anyone. Just check out Mesmer's personality and mannerisms in the first dialogue, you won't be disappointed!

Great game with a lovely artstyle and interesting story, the game leads you to believe something that might not be very clear until the end, which makes you think something completely different is going to happen in the story and I think that type of decieving makes for a bigger impact once the real stuff gets shown. It's mostly a short game, but it has many details that make the game feel more alive so an action you take might be brought up in the following scenes or slightly affect what happens in the story while still keeping everything consistent into a few solid outcomes. The humor of the game is also funny and the characters remind me of undertale/deltarune, the way Mesmer talks makes her look like a deltarune secret boss. The music is also great, it can be mysterious or creepy at times due to the nature of the game, but most of the times its calming and nice to listen to when doing something else. Truly a phenomenal experience. There's a lot of great things to be said about this game, like it's art, music, and storytelling that all come together to make a really fun, charming, memorable experience that really captivates the player throughout it all. Mesmalie is a game that is absolutely worth experiencing (especially for the low price of $9) and I would go as far as to give this game a rating of 10/10 as I believe it succeeds in creating an experience that is extremely fulfilling and satisfying to play through. Anyway, please play this game it's really amazing!

A short and sweet game that I really enjoyed! Loved the art direction, the music keeps playing in my head and Mesmer is a charming character <3
