This is a great installment into the Mech Warrior franchise. As someone relatively new to the universe and lore of Mech Warrior and coming from MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries after being introduced to the series through Mech Assault on Xbox as a child I think it is super cool to finally get a game from the Clan Invasion perspective. Especially now that we have the Mercenaries Shadow of Kerensky DLC that tells the Story of the Invasions from the Inner-Sphere perspective, thus, connecting both games narratively. MW5: Clans differs from MW5:Mercenaries in that Clans is very much more story board driven. We have pre-rendered cutscenes and a whole cast of characters outside of your lance that are driven narratively all with voice acting and motion capture. If you're new to the series and interested in a completely story driven universe and a bit wary of dipping your toes into the more traditional text driven dialogue of Mercenaries and sandbox style of gameplay where you need to sort of drive your own narrative then Clans is an excellent starting point.

I've always loved the Mechwarrior series. Its great to be playing as clan in a story mode. If you've never played MW before, this would be a great series to get into and learn about the ip.
Well worth it for it's narrative story from both the main campaign, as well as any of the current 2 dlc's Clan Ghost Bear Clan Wolf
it would be DEZGRA to play any other version of this game. do not be a freebirth!
fun and good game
This game is very fun. I think more fun than the base game. I have a lot of issues with the inability of the voice actors to have been properly coached on pronunciation. Even a word like dragoon (druhgoon), is pronounced wrong. Kuritan, Capellan (in the base game)... There are a lot of text errors in the dialogue. The recording levels of the various dialogue parts are quite different in quality. It's very amateurish, and jarring. You can't tell me that proofreading, and a couple minutes of coaching would cost that much, that it's not possible to do. That being said, the game is, aside from not being able to change your controls in the introduction, is very good. As I said, very fun!
I have really enjoyed Mechwarrior 5 clans. It improves on nearly every gameplay aspect on MW5: Mercenaries. It even has a fully cutscened story. I would recommend this to someone looking for the old school mech games, though this and mercenaries were faster paced than expected. Final Note: the game is fantastic, but with a modern AMD GPU I encountered multiple crashes and the game ran poorly at 4k; this eventually led to me putting the game down
You have to do every mission over and over. Because if and what heavier mech you get between the missions is randomized. Dear devs this is lazy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
