game itself is nice to play, BUT it is so unstable, if i want to play it crash before deploying to misison 3x then on 4th or 5th attempt I can play mission... I have ryzen 9 3900x, 32gb ram, Radeon 6800XT 32gb VRAM ...
I bought the game on release day and didn't really get into it. Coming from Mercenaries to this was hard I remember because I really liked the flexibility of customizing my mechs however I wanted and this game the mechbay is very rigid. Now I just finished the main campaign on the hardest difficulty and I dont know if something changed but I didnt remember seeing any chassis options at launch, which allows for greater customization for mechs. Not to the extent of Mercenaries of course, but it definitely allowed me to make pretty much anything I wanted for my builds. As I said, I finished the jaguar campaign on trueborn, which is the hardest difficulty. The story was meh at first and then picked up later on eventually. A bit badly paced and some unanswered questions, but it's decent. The gameplay was easy for the first half of the game and then ramped up real hard for me. I went from breezing and taking in the sights to holy sh*t pause, open the tactical map, give orders, and then peek-a-boo enemies to survive. Almost quit the difficulty at some point tbh. But in the end I managed to keep the difficulty. I had to use the mega-laser-vomit builds to do it but it worked. Theres no mech upcost, you can buy all the mechs if you want without penalty. You can research techs to improve your mechs, you can level up your characters to improve their pilot stats and you can unlock milestones for your mechs to improve their stats too. The bad part is, you need to grind to do so and the grind is kinda rough. The only way to grind is by replaying the same story missions over and over in the "simpod". It's boring after a while. I did not play any of the other modes, hordes and arena. Is it a good Mech game? Yes, especially if you want story and cinematics. But if you want a more sandboxy experience, Mercenaries is still king. Still, I am going to play the DLCs next, so that should tell you it's fun enough. *I had no fps/optimization issues and played on max settings. UPDATE: DLCs are great too. Ghost Bear a bit short though.

A fun game overall but it had some hard parts. The balance is just plain off it feels like. I got through maybe 5 or so missions before I needed to turn down the difficulty to story mode because it was just waves and waves of mechs against your 5. I know the tech is better on the Clan ones but it was just too much. Overall the story was interesting but the attitude and superiority of the main cast really started to get hard to listen to after awhile. Playing all the way through you can see that that was the point and a big part of the story, but it was still a slog to get through honestly and took a lot of the fun out of the game. Overall it was fun to play and worth getting while on sale. But I think the OG MW5 is just plain better is almost every aspect.
There are many things that could improve the UI, but if you ignore those; this is the greatest Mech Warrior game ever made. The characters and the stories are insightful.
WASD rebinds are still broken.
This is a bad mechwarrior game, but well produced for a campaign. I don't understand why they bothered to make a good game in Mechwarrior 5 Mercs, and then throw all progress out the window. This game plays like someone's ego trip, which is so frustrating for the majority of the experience. Mods will eventually make this better, shame they missed the mark so hard. Paid 18$ for it on sale, it's not worth a penny more than that.

Much better than MW5 Mercs. Some of the missions in the Flashpoint are the hardest in the game. I liked the wolves expansion. But I think the arrow is a little overpowered. Once I get the arrow it made it much easier beating the game in true born. Fun game to play. Not a lot of replay value unless you are going to the achievements. I did wish I knew sooner that the Simulator in the barracks actually gives your pilots and more importantly mechs experience. After you beat the campaign there is a + option that allows you to restart the campaign with all your leveled pilots and your current mechs. Sort of fun curb stomping in the +.
Clans feels like MW2 updated for the modern age and that's great. Fights feels heavy and deliberate while the new lance controls gives you more options to create perimeters and control your star. You experience the invasion from a young star just before the invasion and it feels like it. This would fit in with the Stackpole novels just fine. Not sure why so many people have issues with the game, its exactly what people asked for ... a campaign based game from the Clans perspective ... But i feel like people just like to complain. Its great if you like BT the novels and the Lore this game is for you if you only know it from MWO and are 12 ... i guess complain
