Meadow - A Shelter Game

I genuinely miss this game. Nowadays it's very much dead, with little to no players. So in a way I don't really suggest you buy this game, since you won't really get the experience it had in its prime, but if you have some friends to arrange gameplay with, or are okay finding the rare player, then by all means go for it! Every once in a while you'll see three or slightly more online. Before Might and Delight left it alone, and the player population went down significantly, it was a wonderful and fun experience. There's no chat, you can only communicate through emotes, and honestly that made the gameplay a lot more enjoyable and peaceful. With two or more players you could interact with the obelisks to break them and get shards, which depending on their colors, would help you unlock another animal, and more skins and emotes (some animals and skins you need to unlock by buying other Shelter games, and Meadow story books, however). You can find those shards throughout the map without needing an extra player to open the obelisks, but it's a lot more grinding, and it's a bit hard to find anyone else in the game today to help you out. Today, I felt incredibly bored, I wanted to play a game so I could desperately get out of the boredom. Scrolled through my steam library and found Meadow there. I remembered how dead it is, but a wave of nostalgia overtook me and motivated me to install it and boot it up, and to my surprise there was 4 people online! Hopped on my Lynx and just roamed about, and found a little Lynx cub, another player! We exchanged waving emotes and roamed the map together, opening any obelisks we found that only needed two players. Then we came across a Fox, they decided to follow us too, but they suddenly crashed and we had to leave em behind after waiting a few minutes to see if they'd come back :( Eventually I had to hop off for the night, it was getting late, but in the end, it was a great time, and reminded me of the older days when Meadow was a lot more active... I don't have much hope that Might and Delight will try to make this game active again, they had done so before, but it didn't seem to work out. They're also focused on other games they're developing, which I understand honestly. But still, I thank them so much, for making such a wonderful game that has given me some good memories.
