Absolute classic full of style and finesse! Fantastic writing and the gameplay is a lot of fun also! Be sure to download the fix pack if you try to play this now or just wait for the remake that is coming soon but nothing beats this classic experience! <3 Remedy is one of my all time favorite developers so much love and care put into each release from them.

I finally played the original Max Payne on PC, and honestly, it still holds up really well. The atmosphere is awesome, the story has that dark crime-noir style, and the gunplay is still a lot of fun. The bullet time mechanic is obviously the main thing people remember, but it still feels satisfying to dive into a room and clear out enemies in slow motion. That being said, the game is definitely harder than I expected. Some parts feel pretty unforgiving, especially if you do not save often. I also somehow did not realize at first that you have to press F5 to quicksave, so I was trying to survive entire levels without dying like an idiot. The PC version is also great because you can use HD textures and other mods to make it look better while still keeping the original feel of the game. It is old, and you can definitely feel that in some spots, but the style, story, and gameplay are still strong. Max Payne is absolutely worth playing, especially if you like darker action games with a great atmosphere.
