Max Payne is a man with nothing to lose in the violent, cold urban night. A fugitive undercover cop framed for murder, hunted by cops and the mob, Max is a man with his back against the wall, fighting a battle he cannot hope to win. Prepare for pain…

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Thank you Cockstar for selling me a broken game
A guy called himself "Mr. Beast" and started howling 10/10 no notes
Finished this on my Steam Deck in one day. Still one of the best games/story after all these years. Gameplay still rules, the facial expressions still kill me, and I love getting one shot by enemies. Yes, there is a workaround you may need to get it running, however it's not that difficult like some reviews/comments state. Once you get it running, let the nostalgia hit you and feel the Payne. Also love that Remedy still continues to make quality games to this day.

4 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
4 on sale11 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 11 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 4 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Que gran juego de mi adolescencia, he disfrutado de re jugarlo ahora, es como un buen vino, con el paso del tiempo nunca empeora
A great game, a classic, but unplayable on PC without huge community patches and fixes: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Max_Payne Such a waste, too bad! ============================== Un jeu superbe, un classique, mais injouable sur PC à moins de le modifier lourdement avec des patches communautaires: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Max_Payne Du beau gâchis, dommage!
Just doing my part Start of 2026 - Still one of the best games ever created.
only highly regarded because of nostalgia

This game is a must play for every PC gamer that genuinely loves classic action shooters. The story is relatively simple yet engaging, conveyed as it is via fairly unique Comic book style artistic sequences that are essentially "cutscenes". The late James McCaffrey (RIP) is the voice of Max Payne and does a brilliant job of narration throughout the game; His voice alone is one of the many amazing aspects of Max Payne. Plenty of twists and turns abound in this gritty Neo-Noir Action Thriller game; the Film Noir elements and references are utilized very well throughout and the additional injection of Norse Mythology tie the game together nicely. The music/soundtrack is beautifully composed and helps immerse you into an atmosphere of darkness, biting cold and apocalyptic themes of a seemingly besieged filthy New York City rife with murder, drugs, corruption and other vices of various degrees of degradation. Gameplay wise, Max Payne is clearly inspired by John Woo films especially Hard Boiled in particular. Hard Boiled is a fantastic Honk Kong action flick filled with cool, crazy gunfights and stunts galore. Watch it If you've never seen it and thank me later. Most of the action is you running around like Chow Yun-Fat, dishing out revenge against every criminal you come across in spectacular fashion, using a Slow Motion mechanic to slow down time while dodging or diving around firing akimbo Beretta's and other weapons. It's just so much fun playing as a badass in a John Woo type of game. Unfortunately, the graphics are very dated, and the game doesn't run well on modern OS' unless you fix it. Luckily, the top Steam Guide tells you how to easily fix most of the issues you may have with a few files/Installers.
I really enjoyed it when it was released and now as well. Challenging game which is worth playing through.
