A glamorous spy dances and charms her way across Europe, though the game plays less like a gripping espionage thriller and more like a graceful, restrained period drama. Even so, its Belle Époque atmosphere has an undeniable allure.
2008 game without achievements and without a complete translation of the dialogues. I find it absurd that it is not free. 4/10 my rating.
I enjoy the atmosphere and audiovisuals, but puzzles are kinda easy and the game has way too much walking back and forth that wastes time. Overall though, if you don't have a better point& click to play you might enjoy it, but it's rather too average for someone who's not specifically interested in the genre.

Ce jeu est une vraie daube.
Can't even run it. Very hard to close out. Don't recommend!
Mata Hari is a point-and-click adventure set in the early 20th century, inspired by the life of the famous dancer and spy. The game blends espionage, mystery, and historical intrigue as you follow Mata Hari through Europe, performing exotic dances while secretly gathering information for various intelligence agencies. Gameplay focuses on classic adventure mechanics: exploring detailed environments, solving puzzles, talking to characters, and completing espionage assignments. The game offers a mix of dialogue-driven investigation and light mini-games that reflect Mata Hari’s double life—part performer, part undercover agent. While the puzzles are generally accessible, they’re engaging enough to keep the story moving at a good pace. Visually, the game presents elegant period environments, from smoky cabarets to secret intelligence offices. The music and atmosphere successfully capture the pre-WWI era. While some animations and mechanics feel dated today, the charm of the setting and the unique protagonist make it stand out among adventure titles of its time. Pros: Stylish historical setting with a unique protagonist Accessible puzzles and classic point-and-click gameplay Interesting espionage storyline Charming environments and period atmosphere Cons: Dated graphics and stiff animations Some puzzles may feel too simple for veteran adventure players Story pacing can be inconsistent Mini-games vary in quality Verdict: Mata Hari is a charming and atmospheric adventure that offers a unique take on spy storytelling. Fans of classic point-and-click games and historical themes will find plenty to enjoy, even if some mechanics show their age.
The game is ok. It's not bad, it's fun. But it's also kind of boring. The setting and the story are nice, and it keeps you engaged at times. Main problem for me was the same thing other reviewers have pointed out: traveling is slow, repetitive and annoying. A simple thing like fast travel would make the whole experience so much better. Old school point and click gamers will probably enjoy it. For me, there's something missing.
Epic game au revoir.
