I think this is just another one of those permanently "early access" games and you should probably avoid it. Like yeah it's fun for a bit and the customization and everything is cool and all but... look at the release year and look at what year this review is coming in. I don't think this game will ever really be "released" I don't see that changing this year or the next frankly so I think you're better off looking elsewhere in all honesty. The other problem is just after a couple of hours you kinda end up asking - where's the game?
It has been early access since 2019, Not worth the price to play unless you like playing dress up. after about 5 missions the only choice is to customize the mech, Or grind the 5 missions but after you have played the mission twice it is very boring.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Don't buy this right now, abandonware with a ton of bugs. Save your money for something else.

Now it's finally complete and I've fully played it I think now's a good time to do a review, M.A.S.S is a game that for all the time in the making might seem like not all that much but it has some outstanding customisation in terms of mecha building, there are enough missions and some are decently fun enough but with a let down of a final boss not in terms of design but in how intentionally underpowered the devs make you for some reason (unless it was a glitch because Q did not work) that said there's a myriad of ways to build you M.A.S.S unit and a fair amount of weapon types and looks of which if I delved in deeper (and I will) I could have made some crazy weapons and mecha designs with what they give you, in short it's fun enough and great if you like making varied mecha designs dood. Okay full review time, M.A.S.S focuses on an event where creatures known as Quarks came into being, threatening humanity as a whole, you with funding from a certain someone take on requests to eliminate these creatures for humanity dood. The game plays rather interestingly if not kind of a lot to remember, especially with the speed of things, you have Melee weapons of which you can equip many, possibly due to the variety and element system, (I'll get to that in a bit) You change between these by holding L2 down and pushing in the left stick, not the most intuitive but it works, then you have physical type bullet guns, L2 left on the D-pad to change, energy based guns, L2 and right on D-pad, Missiles of varying types, L2 and up on D-pad and finally what I'll call energy drone that float and have a rather interesting variety of attacks, L2 and down on the D-pad, as you can tell there's a looot to keep up with along with a special thing you get later that requires holding L2 R1 and a direction on the right stick to use, it's all fun stuff but in the heat of combat? It's a nightmare to use on the fly, especially switching from gun to melee dood. I will also mention melee weapons range from single handed, dual wield and 2 handed type weapons, two handed/dual are typically stronger but unlike the one handed it can't use the shield, I will say the shield has it's own issues though, unless you equip certain things it feels as though it doesn't really do enough to make it useful and the things that do make it useful don't make it too useful and in fact heavily penalise you for not blocking in the case of the actual most useful one, at base it should really half damage but taking the time to test it out I went from taking 700ish damage to taking...700ish damage? Yeah confusing right? Almost seems just for show unless you equip certain things dood. Talking about equipping "certain things" you have a whole upgrade chart for three OS system types, these systems have a huge variety of effects and modules you can equip allowing for multiple effects, including boosting elemental type attacks, something I neglected to mention until now, each weapon can be fire, ice or lightning damage, each weapon also has non elemental types, physical for melee, pierce for physical bullets and plasma for energy types, enemies all have a weakness to at least one element and I believe the normal damage types are there just for the peeps who wanna be lazy about it and just smash dood. The mech making in this is pretty insane and could only have been better if they decided to add tank treads or a hover base option, otherwise you have a heck of a lot to play with, each part has a bunch of sections of which you can colour using a bunch of set palettes or custom ones you can make, you can also put letters/symbols onto the machine from a list of them and unique separate parts of which you can move around and get really unique with, parts much like weapons need blueprints and money to make though and you get those from playing the game and beating quarks dood. Talking of crafting and parts, I will say that for as much as there is in the game, the amount of money you earn isn't all that great, you have better ways to earn money with certain modules you can equip or mission types but the modules will leave you weaker than you'd like on missions meaning they take more time which means less money in a long run scenario and the other quest types albeit fun take a long while, I'm unsure if co-op has better payouts I admit not playing those modes due to personal reasons but I can't imagine them having much more payout dood. There are three quest types, Story which is self explanatory, hunt which is just a killing spree of enemy units and challenge, these range from three unique game types with different conditions, last long enough and you get some outstanding pay (round 19 is my limit) as well as a loooot of blueprint parts, at least for the first two, the last one is a boss rush, fun enough dood. The maps are pretty decent and become large too, I will say the game does suffer from some combat issues though, melee enemies no matter how fast I seem to get basically just cling to you making thruster speed feel kinda of meh outside of reaching a shooter class enemies just a little faster and getting through larger levels a little faster too, this is also an issue based on how shield recharge can only happen if you aren't getting hit, something that is nearly an impossibility with some enemy types, personally my suggestion would be to have shields always regenerate just at a somewhat slower pace, otherwise some enemies/bosses are a nightmare to fight against, on top of that attacking things isn't very accurate for melee even if you lock onto them, it's not the worst but when the enemies have wide range or are super accurate themselves with every hit with insane tracking, it would be nice to know I can actually hit them when it counts dood. The photo mode is fun and something I highly appreciate in a game where you can make many mecha, I do feel in the future if they do more with this that a few more weapon types and parts for weapons in particular would be nice, especially when it comes to showing off your mecha, weapons can be just as important as the mech itself in terms of looks after all but as it stands there's plenty there overall to have some fun flashy pictures with dood. Oh as a little side note I will say that missiles need a major damage boost, even if the cost is them having very limited ammo, as it stands even my normal guns do more damage faster which isn't exactly giving me or anyone a reason to bother targeting the enemy to have them track, more effort than it's worth at that point dood. And that's it really, it's a game that ranges from a decent time to a super fun time based on what you like most in games like these, it has it's flaws as I've mentioned but it sounds like they are doing more with the game still even after full release so who knows, maybe they'll iron out some of the issues eventually? Thanks for reading and if ya buy it I hope you have a blast dood!
This game is like Gundam Breakers & it's a pretty awesome nice alternative to it. Game is very slept on unless you're mecha savvy, mecha enthusiast, or still want more of the mecha genre itch. I've seen a lot of near 1:1 ratio of players with Gundams, Armored Core, Macross, EVA, Pacific Rim, Transformer or even something unique. The customization on creating your own M.A.S.S or Mecha is insane. This game has a campaign, a 2~8 players PVE, & 1v1 PVP or a 3 on 3 pvp. Definitely a 10/10 game made from a small indie team. It's not made by a bigger budget name studio or corpo either. Just know that it's still in early access. The gameplay is quite clunky still while it's still being polish out. Support these indie devs & let them cook.
im remaking my review because i was expressing some frustrations and i dont want to just say my negative opinions but also my positives and what i would do to fix it. i still would not recommend this game sadly because as a game it has too many issues, but ill go into those later. for now im going to just work my way down from customization and then gameplay. also the story is fine, its simple enough to follow, its not complex and it doesnt need to be. customization of your mech is the games selling point and if you can go through the gameplay for the parts you wont be disappointed. it is VERY customizable from the unit itself to the weapon you can use but it lacks a little in a few small spots. you cannot dual wield pistols or onehanded guns or mix and match melee weapons. you can dual wield your melee but they have to be 2 copies of one weapon, even if you want to use 2 different swords with the same weapon type, there is a cap on sizing up accessories that is a little bit to limiting and you cannot change opacity on accessories (accessories are things you can place on your mech or sword that do not effect it in any way, they are purely visual so thats why im mentioning it). dual weapons arnt a big deal because that is alot of animation work for each combination of weapon types, might be able to make a universal system where the combo goes weapon 1 > weapon 2 > repeat. the accessories i would just want the features you cant do currently but it makes sense as to why not in these cases or its a small thing that isnt too big of a issue so i would say its a 9/10 in customizing. gameplay is a much lower rating and for a game that is meant to be played its why its weighing down on my review so much. the positives first though, just like visually, there is alot of customization for how you play your mech with 3 main systems that you can build around to shape your play style, but sadly playing just isnt that intuitive and has some frustrating issues with it. (to note i play on a steamdeck so that means controller inputs) as the mech itself there is a big problem. the camera, the sensitivity is really low even at its highest, taking 4 seconds to do a full 360, if a enemy is behind you thats 2 seconds to face them and trigger lock on. lock on is very difficult to use as when you kill a enemy your lock on toggles off entirely. so when your dealing with multiple targets you have to manually readjust your camera and press R3 after every single kill and if your in the time sensitive quantum break mode where you can deal out massive amounts of damage for a very short timeframe alot of it can be wasted by trying to face and lock onto the enemy. in terms of combat i have been focusing on melee but i have had no issues using guns. the melee is difficult only due to the lock on being so annoying however, melee uses a light heavy combat system but where most use light light heavy heavy, this game uses light light heavy light where heavy transitions into a different combo string. it would be fine on its own but having to manage the camera constantly makes it difficult to keep up with. if the camera was better i feel like it wouldnt be a issue. the only other issue with piloting is the fact you can fly and a very few amount of enemies (including bosses) can somewhat deal with it, but most enemies are built to fight a grounded target. even flying enemies all aim downward and cant shoot at you when you are in the sky. later on there is a enemy that shoots a tracking volley upwards and you do eventually fight other mechs that can fly like you, but so far 90% of enemy types just attack below you mindlessly. not to mention even the most flying energy consuming builds can use there melee attacks in the air to regen it without falling. using your melee in the air is annoying as well because you just swing forward, if your not at almost equal elevation you will miss most your attacks and it just makes transitioning from grounded to air extra annoying. blocking is only accessable if your mechs left hand is open. (so no dual wielding or 2 handed weapons). blocking is fine on its own but it uses the manual aim button and triggers it while you block, manual aiming toggles off your lock on. going right back to the camera issue once again. bosses have a unique issue because they are fine by themselves but they constantly spawn in additional enemies that will attack you when the boss is stunned. meaning that when you knock the boss down you have to deal with a never ending swarm hitting you or dealing with the swarm causing you to miss out on damaging the boss and thats never a good feeling. with the balancing around flying is a fleeting thought and the extreme difficulty just to use your camera it really drag down the gameplay score. increasing the sensitivity slider (by a LOT) and letting lock on auto transition to other enemies in view would fix most my issues but i do think the flying balance needs some attention, a bit of a vertical snap for melee would be nice and, i believe the extra enemies in the boss area is to replenish ammo, so maybe instead your allies will periodically drop down ammo refills?

This is the best Gundam kit in the world, and it comes with a free game! Is the game good? Uhhh...no? Guns are really bad compared to melee, which makes combat feel same-y, and combat is pretty much either arenas of lots of little guys or one big guy with a group of jobbers as a boss enemy. I understand that this is a small team, but the main draw really is speedrunning the game portion so you can build the coolest-looking mech that you've ever wanted. As a package deal? 7/10, wait for a sale before you buy the Gundam model kit game.
Let me start with a recommendation — If you love mechs and want full control over how they look, this game might be for you. You can tweak every visual detail and really make your dream mech. Now, why the negative review? Because this clunky piece of junk is driving me insane. Everything is just visual. Parts look cool, but they do nothing for gameplay. All the actual performance upgrades are in the skill tree. Got huge boosters? Doesn’t matter — they work the same as the tiny ones. You’ll use every weapon type whether you want to or not. Don’t like melee? Too bad — the game forces a sword into every cutscene and even swaps you to it sometimes. Weapons are shallow. For example, the Piercing type has maybe five variants — single shot, automatic, bazooka, pile bunker (which sucks), and that’s it. Everything else only changes the look. Progression is a grind. Every unlock costs money and random materials that feel pointless. Looting doesn’t feel rewarding — it feels like collecting trash. Constant money shortage. You’ll spend most of your time grinding just to afford upgrades. Boss fights are a chore. They have way too much HP, spawn endless trash mobs, and punish you for every mistake. If you want a mech game that actually feels good to play, I’d recommend Armored Core 6 or Gravnir, which at least makes your mech and weapons feel like they have weight.
